What this does is 1. Allow for the licence plate to be captured and radioed to other police personnel who can apprehend. 2. The anonymity of unmarked vehicles cannot be monitored by the CUG Taxi and Bus group.

@mullings_clive If what you’re advocating for is greater police presence why do they need to be unmarked ? If the premise is that their actions are dangerous then the aim should be to prevent offenses before they happen, rather than to catch them in the act. Police presence need not be covert

@mullings_clive Covert police presence will impact behaviour. If they only behave when marked cars are present, then they will revert when marked cars are absent.

@mullings_clive I'm not convinced that the police really want to solve the problem, perhaps because many of them are invested in it. They are not all so dumb that obvious ideas like this simply escapes them.
