@WALKTHRUs_5 @leicesterscitt We started by slimming down the Walkthrus for our TEs to use so that we could prioritise those most useful. This was informed by the Walkthrus matrix put together by @Emma_Turner75 , with our own thoughts. By RAG rating, we could direct TEs to appropriate Walkthrus. 2/

@WALKTHRUs_5 @leicesterscitt @Emma_Turner75 3/ We trained our teacher educators in instructional coaching, using @WALKTHRUs_5 as our concrete examples. We also created resources such as a 'Talkthru Walkthru' with our @cjb82 and a trainee, and added narrative.

4/ We also run monthly optional webinars in which a relevant @WALKTHRUs_5 was focused on. Worked examples, for example. This included concrete examples of it being used in lessons, and discussions on how to support trainees in developing their own, or scripting teacher talk.

5/ We included another @WALKTHRUs_5 in our monthly newsletter (along with other professional learning, news and important dates). Here we again gave concrete examples of when to use, questions to use in coaching, and deliberate practice options.

6/ During lockdown, we wrote adaptations to @WALKTHRUs_5 , explaining how trainees could continue their development, and continue to be coached, with slight adaptations or re-thinking. This were included again in training and our newsletter.

7/ We directed and exemplified using @WALKTHRUs_5 resources combined with our own experience and expertise, so that our teacher educators had lots to work from and with.

8/ Next year, we’re taking our next step in instructional coaching and integrating @Steplab_co into our programme, along with a planned, evidence-informed professional learning programme so our trainees get excellent support from informed and expert teacher educators /

9/ and so that we have increased transparency between the SCITT and our partner schools, so we can adapt the support we offer our teacher educators, based on the needs of trainees and the events in their classrooms. Feel free to DM with questions. 🙂
