If Jordan Poole was on the Lakers, he’d have the most ridiculous amount of hype right now.
I feel like most Dubs fans still don’t get what’s happening. The stuff he’s doing, the skill set he has, is legit on a superstar trajectory.
Especially when you factor the work ethic.
Somehow it slipped thru the cracks that Jordan Poole had a HISTORICALLY GREAT playoff run for a 22 year old guard.
Like, he was better in the playoffs than the reg season, which just doesn’t happen at that age.
Jordan Poole is the first Dubs player that is respected by “eye test” fans.
I keep expecting a bunch of pushback on JP but other fan bases are just like, “ya, he’s nice.”
Kyrie:
At the rim: 71%
3-10’: 55%
10-16: 47%
16-3pt: 42%
Jordan Poole:
At the rim: 70%
3-10’: 52%
10-16: 53%
16-3pt: 45%
Jordan Poole is WORLD CLASS inside the 3pt line. Currently at 36% from 3 on high volume. If he gets to 38-39% sky is the limit.
It’s so funny how scared media members are to just say that Steph is good at defense. Like really good.
Small PG’s almost never make a positive impact on defense. Steph does and has now for many years.
There’s like 5 PG’s in the NBA that can switch onto Tatum/Bron & Steph is 1.
The 2016 Warriors had 9 players who were out of the NBA within 2 years after the Finals.
NINE. PLAYERS.
Ezeli never played again.
Bogut never played more than 27 games again.
McAdoo played 3 more NBA games.
Andy V played 14 more games.
You realize how insane that is? lol
An impending free agent, who’s never got paid, wants to go out there & play injured. Says a lot about the guy.
Not knocking guys who wont do that. But I do praise guys who are willing to.
Bruh, midway thru the game the Celtics were like “no way in hell we can beat these guys straight up” and just started flopping and pulling out ALL the tricks. lol
Every time Durant is out, Curry immediately engages the BS foul drawing behavior. He loves nothing more than kicking his legs backwards on those floaters
They officiate Steph at the 3 pt line like they usee to officiate Shaq in the paint.
He’s so dominant above the arc it’s like they try to give the defense a chance. Pure insanity. Do better
@OfficialNBARefs
Is Steph the only longtime superstar that just has no weird issues ever? No mysterious absences, no traded demands, no controversy, no DNP rest.
Actually cares about the REG season. Tries hard on both ends. Defers to other stars to make them feel welcome. Etc etc etc.
You know Steph is an absolute legend because anytime a player breaks out w/ success, the first thing people do is try to compare them to Steph.
Straight up GOAT stuff.
KD’s complete delusion in this regard is pretty remarkable. Only way it could reach that level is if the actual guy that the defense game-planned for, never once brought it up.
All time teammate.
One thing that really stood out in this series is Smart really wanted no part of Steph. You didn’t even have to make contact on a screen to get Smart to switch off Steph.
Just amazes me that Steph can’t get off a shot in the 2nd quarter w/o being trapped but Dame keeps getting left one on one w/ the game on the line. lol
Oh ya. When Steph came back early from his knee injury, not only did no one give a shit about his health, but y’all mocked the fact he was less than 100%. Clowned on him for not being able to play at his normal standard.
Dubs really gonna have to consider moving on from Kerr after this year. With and without Steph Kerr just can’t get a team w/ TONS of weapons to be consistently great on offense anymore.
Finally at the point where I think he’s gotta go.
It’s pretty crazy that the Dubs played all of zero full games w/ their core in the regular season, and are still 1 game away from a title.
I’d bet damn near anything that’d be the first time in NBA history.
Dubs fans when GS faced the Spurs back in the day:
Man, we just happy to be here. These dudes are legends. Mad respect.
Kangz fans in their fist postseason appearance since 1967:
Dubs are bums! Fox the best player in the series. Sweep!
It’s time to be excited about Joku. There’s no question about it. He’s figured out how to be an NBA role player at 20 years old, which is an incredibly good sign.
It’s so hard to learn how to have an impact w/o the ball after having it your whole life growing up. Kudos to him.
Marcus Smart is easily one of my favorite non Warriors.
Like, if you really watch him closely, he actually displays fantastic sportsmanship all the time. He helps guys up, doesn’t get butt hurt, jokes around.
He just also plays like a psycho. Which is a trait I appreciate.
So the Dubs really have no legit PnR bigs. Which is basically CP’s entire game.
On top of that, GS is one of the fastest pace teams in the NBA, and CP is prob the slowest paced PG in the NBA.
This is just pure insanity.
Starters play well. Bench gets destroyed. Other team gets confidence, starters come back in and can’t get back on track.
It’s the same thing every game.
Man was I wrong about Chriss. He’s not an elite big or anything like that but man he sure does play hard and the low hoops IQ stuff was just flat out wrong.
He’s doing this w/ the Santa Cruz Warriors, can only imagine what he’ll look like w/ Steph & Klay.
LeBron fans clowning Steph’s 2016 Finals again I see.
Bron 2011 finals when he lost to one of the worst NBA Champs in a long time in 6 games, despite having way more talent:
18-7-7 on 54% TS.
It’s so weird how people act like Bron never had playoff disappointments.
If the Dubs win the title this year, then it has to be universally accepted that Draymond Green is the best defender in NBA history.
Cuz the only way the Dubs are winning is by playing: Steph, Poole, Klay, Wiggins Dray like 32+ min a game.
Which only Dray could make work.
Really don’t understand the “end of their run” talk. Like, losing in 6 games in the NBA finals when everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, is not typically the sign of an ending dynasty.
They’ll be right there in the hunt next year.
What we’ve learned so far in this series:
In order for BOS to even be competitive, they have to make an insane number of 3’s.
On the flip-side, GS has been up at least 15+ lat into both games without having outlier performances.
Imagine being a fan of basketball & having to pretend like you don’t like watching this man play basketball, just because he ruined all your preconceived notions about the game.
I’m never gonna let you band-wagoner's forget that you really tried to retire Klay and cancel Dray, all while acting like Wiseman was a few games away from being Wilt 2.0.
Wiggins is officially the Dubs 2nd best player. Dude is just so incredibly consistent game to game. I can’t remember the last time I wondered what he was gonna bring.
I can already tell this is gonna come back to haunt me. lol
This dude liked this like 9 seconds after I tweeted it. Makes me rethink my whole position on him. Guys that are that petty are usually crazy good. lol
Craziest stat i’ve prob ever seen.
The top 4 ranked teams in defensive 3pt% against in order:
Boston
Miami
Golden State
Dallas
The last 4 remaining teams:
Boston
Miami
Golden State
Dallas
That’s INSANE.
The new Dubs playing w/ Steph have no idea how to play w/ him. They’re constantly hesitating to pass him the ball when he’s open cuz they forget it’s the best shooter ever that’s open.
At one point they skip passed an open Curry for a wide open Damion lee. Which... u don’t do.
Steph Curry’s playoff stats:
27-5-6-2 on 45-40-91 (would be all time great regular season numbers).
3 Rings
Imagine being dumb enough to think comparing Kershaw & Steph is even remotely close.
Their best player has missed 8 hames. Their 2nd best player has missed 8 games.
Their 4th best player is a vet min. Their 5th best player is on a 2 way. Their 6th best player played in the G League bubble this year. Lmfao
Remember when Jeff Van Gundy kept saying “people still underrate Steph Curry”?
And we’re all like nah. Everyone knows, just hating.
But now respected NBA people are saying GS will be lucky to make the playoffs. So I guess JVG was right all along.
The Wiseman discourse is gonna be so bad. lol
He’s gonna go do the exact same thing he did in GS (score points). But because defense and winning doesn’t matter in DET, people are gonna be like “WOW! Look at those points!). lol
The thing that makes JP different than a guy like Clarkson, is he sees the entire floor. He’s not squarely focused on scoring. He understands how to make the right play, can make ELITE passes w/ both hands, and he can score at all 3 levels.
Also he plays defense.
Dubs outplayed the Celts for about 38 min. Not much you can do if 35% 3pt shooters are gonna hit like 20 30’s.
Just ridiculous luck. Oh well. Feel pretty good moving forward.
McClung is 6’2” and was a pretty terrible defender in the preseason. Jerome is 6’5”.
McClung per 36 in the G League:
22-6-7 on 43-32-74
Jerome in the NBA:
15-3-6 on 51-41-91
Pretty safe to say the Dubs chose the right guy.
If only scoring garbage time points was what GS needed from the center.
Y’all keep looking at points instead of defense, passing, screens.
If he was a horrible score but a solid defender, he’d probably be the Dubs starting center.
One thing the Dubs need to do is stop over-helping. Especially off the corner. Just let Tatum and Brown do their thing against the Dubs best defenders.
Want a sign of growth w/ Chriss that no ones talked about yet?
Fouls per36:
5.4
4.8
5.8
5.9
3.7 (this year)
What makes this even more significant. This year is his highest block rate and rebound rate.
Jordan Poole’s improvement is just insane. Last year vs this year:
C&S 3
30%
38%
Pull up 3
24%
29%
Vs tight coverage 3
25%
37%
Open
26%
31%
Wide open
32%
39%
Less than 10FT
47%
60%!!!!
He’s 21 years old and closing playoff games vs the defending champs.
Imagine covering the NBA for a living and not realizing great teams cost a lot of money. lol
@WindhorstESPN
acting like there’s anything new going on here is just comical.
KD wanted to be the man. Wants to be beloved. Wasn’t gonna happen in GS. This is Steph’s team til he retires. That’s why he left. There’s no mystery.
All the other stuff is just an easier explanation. But it’s not true. Anyone who followed the situation closely knows this.
