@misskubelik I honestly wonder if she has ANY clue the language was indeed anti-trans. She's known for being open-minded, but she IS of an older generation. My mom is ~Midler's age and has had issues w/new language. But if I or one of her grandkids explain context, her position WILL shift.

@misskubelik I am so damn confused. I’m a progressive but I don’t understand what everyone is fighting about. Bette Midler is a proven ally to marginalized groups. Why be so quick to jump on her? Again, I’m very confused.

@misskubelik Bette Midler has fought for LGBTI+ for decades and that INCLUDES transgender folks. For the love of anything, talk to the woman first. This is all about the idea of calling anybody “birth person”. Women are women. Stop dividing the community. You’re also not “canceling” Bette .
