This came in the donations today LITERALLY after a kid brought me the 2006 version (!) with the cover ripped off (!) and the 6th graders pulled it out of the box and held it aloft, screaming, delirious, in shock, as if they had discovered the Holy Grail.
Today as I was leaving some more donations came in to the office. I saw one of the 6th graders there getting a mask. I called them in. "Look," I whispered. "All these are ours!" They stared in actual shock and then swooned, literally dropped to the floor, screaming in delight.
Got a good news/great news situation today.
GOOD NEWS: found the supply closet and got crayons and colored pencils!!
GREAT NEWS: look at this amazing book I found still on the shelves.

As you go through your collection if you see broken or damaged books from prebinders such as follett, permabound, or bound to stay bound you should but these aside. Check the back cover for these company names/logos.

I was privileged to teach English for 33 yrs.; there was no list of banned books, nor should there be. The curriculum had to be appropriate & approved prior to teaching. My heart aches for the students & teachers.

Here’s what I’d like to see: a system that actually FUNDED THIS LIBRARY IN THE FIRST PLACE. Because a public service should have to rely on donations.
