My sweet old girl Lilah is struggling. I’ve had to carry her outside all day. We spent some time today at the vet. She’s still eating and rallies with energy at times. This beautiful little girl helped me recover from a career ending injury. I love her so much.

Being a jockey is a tough lonely life. I remember the days on my cot in a room at the track alone with all my self doubt. When you’re losing you feel like your letting everyone down and you withdraw more,add in the pressure of making weight. It’s hard. RiP Avery Whisman

As a former rider it is offensive to me to watch a rider be so reckless as to cause a spill. Injured horses and riders is unacceptable because of one individuals blatant disregard for the rules. What Paco Lopez did in the FOY is inexcusable. I’m disgusted watching this.

Friends called me saying I’m too hard on @SONNYLEON1 .I am hard on anyone that disrespects the game and puts it in a negative light.I think Sonny is a good rider that made a mistake.Own it and move on.Everything good in my life is because of racing and horses.Respect it.That’s it.

I was too tired to drive home tonight so I took a walk around Belmont. I planted this tree 44 years ago as a 14 year old to be my Christmas tree in a few years. I should have planted it farther away from my room. It grew up beautifully. I love this place.

I have been silent about the accident at aqueduct yesterday that injured @trevormmccarthy but after thoughtful reflection,This was a product of the stewards allowing riders too much leeway and a rider was injured because of it. We need stronger better stewardship.

Delilah’s heart exam was excellent. For an older dog she is incredibly healthy.She helped me thru the depression I went thru from the end of my riding career.We walked together everyday even when walking was not easy for me. She helped nurse me back to health. I love her so much.

My baby boy Tino had major surgery today to remove a massive tumor (for his size)from his side. He’s home but really uncomfortable right now. The mass was sent for a biopsy and we won’t know the test for at least a week. He’s watching the rangers with me. It’s breaking my heart.

I am constantly disappointed and confused with the callousness of people. I watched a pick up truck hit a deer and not even slow down. The deer was gravely injured but not dead and suffering. I called the state police and they put the deer down. Cmon people we have to do better.

I was walking to my car out of Aqueduct today and a Jamaican guy stopped me and told me why I was a favorite rider for him and his friends. He said that I finished 2nd and 3rd on long shots that made them money in their exotic wagers a lot. That makes me happy. #mypeople

Meet Diamonds and Denim- A 4 year old filly who broke down at Penn National- She ended up at a farm where I had one of my horses - My partner’s and I saw a pic of her so we had to save her! 2 surgeries later - 8 weeks of fighting - Diamonds took her first walk today!!
