Having the same conversation at home with GP spouse. Can’t be bothered with another meaningless appraisal process. I suspect she won’t be a GP next year & that seems to be a prime reason.

Yeah but we all know if you don’t tick off mandatory training, do an MSF and set some development goals you might turn into Harold Shipman, so expect no sympathy.

My GP cousin got so hacked off with appraisals where he was repeatedly told off for trying to get patients referred for necessary treatment at local hospital that he moved to Australia 5 years ago, age 50. Absolutely don't blame him. I know the sh1t he went through.

For the non-medics reading this, revalidation is compulsory, hugely time-consuming, mostly a tick-box exercise, and although it could be very constructive, seldom is. (And Shipman would have passed with flying colours.)
