@wesstreeting Dear Wes … I don’t think anyone in primary care thinks this is the service that they would like to provide in a perfect world . But the battle is not with the doctors - it’s about how resources are invested in the NHS, it’s about the failings in social care provision …

Not the headline I expected... The BMA needs to accept that Labour’s plans to train 7,500 more doctors a year must be met with higher standards for patients. In contrast, other health unions are being reasonable - it’s the government who are stubbornly refusing to negotiate.

@wesstreeting it’s about the inequalities in our society creating vast differences in haves & have nots … the demand on primary care has grown to unstainable levels . You deal with that by fixing the problem outside the NHS as much as in. Equally though speak to people who understand it

@wesstreeting You will the find that the funding at GP practice level is falling , that pharmacy’s are struggling as they are making losses ondrugs , people running the services are effectively funding it personally . Yet the demand soars & the blame about not meeting it gets directed at them
