On Friday, Nov. 13, Marshall will honor each student who perished in the Nov. 14, 1970 plane crash with a posthumous degree. A total of 39 degrees will be awarded, each dated with the student’s anticipated graduation date.

The Marshall University Board of Governors has selected Mr. Brad D. Smith as the 38th President. The announcement was made at today’s general board meeting.
An introduction of the 38th President will occur at 2 p.m. and will be livestreamed at .
Due to weather conditions, classes at Marshall are cancelled today, Wednesday, Jan. 17. The cancellation affects all the university's campuses and centers, as well as evening classes. University offices will operate on a two-hour delay.

who was killed in the 9/11 attacks. Dr. Paul W. Ambrose died when the a plane crashed into the Pentagon. Dr. Ambrose received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Marshall.
