I am sharing that we said goodbye to my mom, June Patinkin, Sunday at the age of 95. It is never easy to write your own mother's obituary, but it's also a way of holding onto her - so I am sharing that too. She was the best mom a son could hope for. 🙏
I asked Mary Ann Sorrentino if she is still — 36 years after it happened — excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
It brought a chuckle.

Journalism has challenges but a remark in a coronavirus speech by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh reminds of its key function: “Don’t listen to rumors… if you’re not getting the information from the news stations or the papers, it’s all rumors.”

Will miss you Kev, and so will the Journal... you are both a friend and an inspiration to me... your writing, your presence... it'll leave a hole. Such a great legacy you leave.
"I am not prone to prayer, but when you touch this ancient stone, you can't help but ask God for the things you hope for in this world, and a part of you believes that just maybe, this is among the few places on Earth where he is most likely to hear you."
