Want some inspiration? Four years ago today my daughter, Kendall, had a stroke from an AVM in her brain. Radiation has destroyed more than half of it. She is still a stroke risk until it’s gone, but she is thriving and we are so grateful, so today we celebrate. #avmsurvivor #AVM

Got great news from my daughter’s neurosurgeon (hence the smile). Her AVM has shrunk even more & is now 95% gone! No timeline for total obliteration, but we’re patient. We’ve spent 6 yrs knowing this would be a long journey. Keep crushing it @KendallsCrusade . You’re almost there.

Obnoxious kid in 1st row over Phillies dugout cursing and yelling at the Toronto players and the ump. Bryce Harper turned around and put him in his place, told him to knock it off and stop cursing. Now he and his friends are celebrating that he got spanked by Bryce Harper.

After 4 hrs of surgery, my daughter Kendall is on the way to regaining some use of her left hand. Dr Dan Zlotolow did a tendon transfer & denvervation and was thrilled w/the results. She hasn’t bent her hand back like this in 6 yrs! 4 wks in cast but on her way @KendallsCrusade

6 yrs ago today my daughter had a stroke from an #AVM . Doctors gave us little hope, said we shouldn’t treat her, we’d leave her “devestated.” That wasn’t ok with me. We found Dr. Chang at @TopNeuroDocs . Her AVM is now 90% gone & we have hope. Happy Anniversary, Sweet Girl

9 yrs ago @KendallsCrusade had a stroke from a brain AVM. Doctors told us not to treat her, said we’d “leave her devastated”. @StanfordNsurg saw it differently. Today she’s a thriving college sophomore, the AVM almost gone. Today we celebrate strength, courage & never giving up.

Shout out to this rockstar group of first responders, Allie, Kurt and @capellasaurus . They were the CHOP transport team who took my daughter from Paoli Hospital to CHOP after she had a stroke last night (yes, that smiling kid had just had a stroke). I can’t thank them enough!! ❤️

I really need Carissa Thompson to stop using “great news” with regard to Tua injury. Yes, he has movement in his extremities, but he clearly has a traumatic brain injury. This isn’t just about walking tomorrow, it’s about living a full life for many years to come.

Shout out to Dr. Hozack of @RothmanOrtho , his surgical team and the staff at Muve Health. Had my other hip replaced on Monday. Was walking just hours later & went home today feeling like a champ. Even did stairs using just the handrail today! Amazing procedure and results.

We’ve lost so many legends recently, but we lost a real giant today. Fiery and competitive on the court, kind and funny away from it. John Chaney was 89 years old. That’s a good, long life and his was well lived... but what a great loss for the rest of us. RIP Coach.
