After 55 years of coaching baseball, the last 54 at Blissfield, Larry Tuttle is retiring. He retires with the most wins in MHSAA history at 1,322 with 431 losses and five ties.
Lenawee County will send 37 wrestlers to the state championships at Ford Field.

BREAKING: The Michigan Wrestling Association has announced the first high school girls wrestling state championships will be held in February at Adrian College.

Tyffani Bryan took over a Tecumseh team returning most everyone from one of the worst seasons in recent memory. Tecumseh quickly regained its status as one of the premier programs in the county. She's the Lenawee County Softball Coach of the Year:
Congratulations and well wishes to Siena Heights AD Fred Smith, who announced his retirement today. Congrats as well to women's basketball coach Sue Syljebeck, who will begin as interim AD on July 1.
Former Adrian College standout Ryan Dorow is having a career night for the Texas Rangers Advanced-A affiliate, the Down East Wood Ducks. Dorow is 2-for-3 in the 5th inning with two home runs and 6 RBIs.
Seven programs will have at least a 10th game in the 2019 season as Addison, Blissfield, Britton Deerfield, Clinton, Lenawee Christian, Onsted and Sand Creek all saw their names come up during the MHSAA playoff selection show
Sand Creek boys track and field coach Ernie Ayers, right along with Madison girls track coach Josh Powers, was not only named to the MITCA Hall of Fame tonight. He was also named Divison 4 Coach of the Year.
Adrian College Jr. catcher and Madison graduate Gunner Rainey has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Year. Fr. Maxwell Denny took Pitcher of the Year
After a few years of coaching the Adrian American Legion baseball team, Hayden Craig is getting his chance to coach a high school squad, as in the spring he will be the new coach for the Adrian Maples.
It is with a heavy heart that we have to pass this news along. Beloved Coach and Teacher AJ Marry has been involved in traffic incident and has passed away this morning.

Tecumseh's Chesney Wilke scored five goals last week as she helped Tecumseh tie with rival Chelsea and go 3-1 at the Dansville Tournament. She also won the 800 as Tecumseh beat both Chelsea and Ypsilanti in a SEC White double dual. She is the Daily Telegram Athlete of the Week
Tecumseh's AJ Bryan took over games. He scored on the ground, he scored through the air, he scored when teams kicked the ball his way and he even helped out on defense when needed. He did it all, earning Player of the Year:
Mike Duffy ended his tenure as Adrian College AD on Thursday. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs now have 50 programs, built 10 new facilities and hoisted an NCAA national title this season:
Clinton's Grant Stockford led the Redwolves to their first district title in nearly a decade and in the regional semifinal had a strong game, including an emphatic dunk against Michigan Center. He's the final Daily Telegram Athlete of the Week for the winter sports season
All-County in every season in four different sports is impressive, doing it while maintaining a 4.0-plus GPA is even more impressive. Tecumseh's Chesney Wilke was a leader all around to earn the honor of 2023 Scholar-Athlete of the Year:
Ashlyn Moorehead had a big week to open up the new year for Tecumseh girls hoops, averaging 17.5 points (including a 24pt effort against Blissfield) as her team beat Blissfield and Onsted. She is your first Daily Telegram Athlete of the Week for 2022
Clinton's Nito Ramos took a club team with a few brand new golfers and got the Redwolves to the state meet. For that, he's earned Daily Telegram Girls Golf Coach of the Year:

Tecumseh's Jacob Burns guided one of the most explosive offenses in Lenawee County history, leading Tecumseh to its first SEC White title and first league title in decades. He is the Offensive Player of the Year:
Clinton's Marla Erickson had the respect of her boys soccer team and turned it into the program's first LCAA title. She has been picked as the Daily Telegram Boys Soccer Coach of the Year:
Sand Creek High School graduate and Adrian College wrestler Bryant Moore has become a high school football referee this fall to help with the statewide shortage.
Nico Johnson did it all for BD in its first season in 8-man. Threw for 1,000+, ran for 1,000+, leader on defense. He even took a kick or two the distance. He is your Lenawee County Football Player of the Year. (All-County Teams included):
Clinton's Bradyn Lehman led the Redwolves to a LCAA title, district title and regional title. He did it all over the field, but was the anchor of one of the top defenses around:
Adrian's Thomas Dayharsh had 243 yards receiving Friday. According to MHSAA's records it ties him 52nd ever and the most in Lenawee County history for a single game
Brandon Felts went 3-0 with three pins last week to take the 285 LCAA championship and helping Clinton take second in the highly contested tournament. He's the Daily Telegram Athlete of the Week
