When you get to college, no one cares about what AAU Circuit you played on. When you go pro, no one cares what college conference you played in.
When the playing field is LEVELED, what you learned, your development, habits and frequent practices will show.
Go where YOU LEARN.
Yes, kids wanna play with their friends, & switch AAU teams, & switch HS teams, & yes they have to produce in college, & they are blessed to receive, and everything else you grown men wanna tweet about regarding 14-18 year kids. STOP TWEETING! START MENTORING!
HAPPY SUNDAY.
High School players, do not be deceived by the “Transfer Portal” madness. Scholarship school are still recruiting, offering, and signing high school guys all over the country. Keep working because you love the game! Stop chasing offers. Work so hard, the offers chase you.
In Love with the building process!
1 Day at a time! Most celebrate the ending achievement of the journey. Only few, celebrate the achievements along the journey!
Most rewarding job ever. These girls taught me humility, patience and perseverance. I regret to say that I have resigned as Head Coach of the Woodbridge Varsity girl’s program.
💚💛Big Blessing!
Most of us that coach AAU/High School are doing it for the Love! Driven by passion for the game to inspire kids. Paid pennies! It’s amazing that the public scrutinizes coaches no matter the adversity or success. Scrutinize me once I get a 5 year/$3.5 million coaching contract🤣🏀
There’s this weird sense of entitlement that I’ve witnessed with some young players today. This arrogance that shows false confidence. Some of the best kids, have a level of humility about them, which makes them great teammates, and generally translates to success.
The great brotha Anthony Mills in his element! Love what he’s doing at

in his 2nd season at the helm! Incredible flow, detail and energy in today’s practice.

No surprise here! With the way this hard-fought game was, It was a matter of who had the ball for the final possession. Incredible plays all throughout this game! HIGHLY COMPETITIVE! WELL-COACHED! To think, this is Game 1. These teams will continue to improve this season!
There’s an all out assault on “Basketball Trainers” worldwide.
I’m happy to say that I’m the WORST basketball Skills Trainer, coach, practitioner, of them all.
See that confused look on my face?

We understand we are not THAT GOOD! So we Pursue our Greatness, relentlessly. People with the MOST TO SAY, were sound a sleep, while WE were WORKING. It’s only right that people take note of these kids.
I’ve learned so much being involved in the game of basketball. One thing is consistent, is that everyone has a STRONG OPINION of what should happen, what a coach should do, and where a player should be. Trust your Own Process. It will workout for you in the long run.
If you are “low-minute player” or a “no minute player” at any level, you’re not able to move like a starter. Maximize your day. Get a lift in. Get an on court workout in. Learn from film and practice.
DO MORE.
I was asked, “are you walking for your graduation?”
Maaaaaaaaaaaan, “I’m SPRINTING across that stage for graduation!”
Straight to the whip, straight to the Highway, straight to the BEACH on them peoples!
Really disappointed that folks from the twitter “basketball” world made one of THE BEST BASKETBALL GAMES EVER, about Race. The media adding some toxicity as usual, labeling players with negative tags. Again, the adults.

S/O to the real MVP, literally at every game this weekend, 40 weeks pregnant, texting me adjustments during the game. If you ever see me look at my phone during a timeout, trust, she is giving me an earful, with her thumbs. 😊😍🤣
Incredible environment at the
@SheGotGame7
‼️ AAU feel. It’s perfect! Packed gym for the girls, bright lights, lots of coaches! Won’t miss many of these events in the future.
In a time-out last night during a HS game, I heard a senior, say to a sophomore, “We get on YOU, because we Love you! PICK IT UP!”
Kai Bowers
@Viking____Pride
“Prayers up to a man that has been taken away from us far too soon! Chris Chittum, you will be missed dearly. To his family, and my man flying Brian, May God be with you during these trying times. We are ALL HERE for you guys!” 🙏🏽⬆️⬆️
Been watching Sherm’s crew closely this past year. An incredible schedule this Fall in preparation for the season. Took every opportunity to play against the best. Even played multiple VA private schools. This group grinds !
With most kids “aspiring” to be ELITE SCORERS. I wonder if kids understand just how tough it is to SCORE at a high level. On everyone’s scouting report, defenses designed to stop you, overly physical defenders, fatigue, etc., don’t wish someone else’s role. FLOURISH in your own.
🚨The

Josh Oduro. 🚨
🏀 Oduro averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in two wins for George Mason. He also shot 63.3 percent from the floor

Got kicked off the bench today during a game. Wasn’t sure why. Maybe because I’m handsome. One of our players said, “We gotchu coach!” So I paraded the baselines and sidelines like a crazy parent. The best place to coach. Undefeated from the stands!

How many assistant coaches lose sleep perfecting scouting reports ?
But for the National Championship game…? THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, and your HC pays you the greatest compliment on National TV… Priceless moment!
More players are less prepared for college basketball, imo. College basketball is, tough! It’s not high school or what incoming freshmen are used to. It takes time to adjust.
Had the opportunity to watch a couple of my good men go to battle today!
George Mason WON!
Josh Oduro - 8pts, 6rebs, 1blk
Matt Lewis - 19pts, 6rebs, 6asts
Guys played very well !!!
Practice for a couple of hours. Then our players stay after, on their own, to strengthen their weaknesses. Gotta LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE GYMRATS!!!!

A workout, a practice, pick-up, should all be approached with same intentionality as a game. These things are not the same, however, the mental approach, will find the true value in each segment and it’s role in your journey.
YERGEY MONSTER!!!!
@aldenyergey
11 points, played 30 minutes in the 1st game of the season as a freshman! HAPPY FOR HER!!
“Although I was dead tired, whenever I had to guard the ball, or make a play, I just found the energy to go!”
Keep going slim!
We are in DIFFERENT TIMES!!! It’s not the 90s or 80s or early 2000s. It’s 2020. Support one another. Stop comparing. In the basketball community, kids need backing and support, whether tough love or just an ear.
We see you working

It’s Just Some Bump!
Heavy on the Game-work today! A ton of made shots, mishandled basketballs, missed layups, bad passes, blown assignments, complimented by some correction, adjusting, and competition.
Essential Workers clock-in for the holidays.
Unified Basketball is the most amazing thing! High Energy! Stands are jam packed! My man Saeed plays for the crowd! He makes a shot and the entire gym goes crazy!! 👌🏾🤟🏾
What we are calling “AAU” is really “REC” league basketball.
We are dissolving the necessary developmental phase of “REC” basketball, and replacing with a need and a greed to “have all the kids” starting in 2nd grade.
Kids can barely know how to dribble, on AAU teams. SMH.
I remember being accused of “Being Friends” with players that I have coached or trained. Naw, I just do what the old heads where I’m from, did with us; they looked at us as younger brothers; they taught us; they listened; were tough on us; they guided us.
For some, it’s God Given
Others, have to work at it
And when it’s God Given, and You Work at It.....
You get closer to your Greatness with every effort.
Hard fought Friday night Win! Game ended at almost 10:00pm. Film study all night, sprinting back to the Lab for a 7:45am practice Saturday morning! I love that these girls LOVE TO WORK!!
@wshsgirlsbb
Not every day is perfect. You never know what a person is going through, that may be impacting their performance, their day, their studies. Take the time to listen, share, and truly care for your fellow man/woman.
To all high school players who feel lost, confused, or frustrated with the recruiting process, keep your faith HIGH, PRAY, WORK and blaze your own trail!
