I was terrified posting that video. I thought about what B&N can do to my future books…what they can do to my backlist. 😭 But then I thought about Mia Tang and asked myself what would Mia do…I knew Mia would not hesitate to speak out! That’s the courage I want to give to kids!

@kellyyanghk My husband (all 6 foot 2 inches) of him sat on the sofa with me last night and we BOTH cried watching your video. We cried for what this means to SO many creators & particularly children. Thank you for sharing!

@kellyyanghk I find it a HORRIBLE business strategy & detrimental to creating a credible bookshop. As someone who ordered books for a wide range of shops for Waterstones, I know it’ll only hurt their sales by limiting their range & scope. Who wants to see the same titles over & over again?

@kellyyanghk You did the right thing by speaking up and I admire your courage. It's such shortsighted thinking. Your books are huge in UK schools. Time to rethink, @BNBuzz . @sam_creighton @_borntosparkle @Teacherglitter @teacher_mr_r

@kellyyanghk Your emotion and passion are your strength 💜 Thank you for your wonderful books. We are expanding our reading curriculum this year, and are planning to read Front Desk AND Three Keys with our fourth graders. We have conversations I never could have dreamed of having as a kid.

@kellyyanghk So proud that you were brave enough to do that-even though it could backfire. This kind of preferential treatment robs us all of so many books and important stories! ❤️

@kellyyanghk I'm so glad you spoke up. I went on tour Aug 2nd and was confused and frustrated every time I visited a B&N and couldn't find my book (which was the #1 Indie Next List book for August). At first I thought it was just me, then learned this is their new policy.

@kellyyanghk Please continue to speak out against B&N. They need to change as a company in how they treat everyone, including authors. Thank you.
