I was terrified posting that video. I thought about what B&N can do to my future books…what they can do to my backlist. 😭 But then I thought about Mia Tang and asked myself what would Mia do…I knew Mia would not hesitate to speak out! That’s the courage I want to give to kids!

My husband (all 6 foot 2 inches) of him sat on the sofa with me last night and we BOTH cried watching your video.
We cried for what this means to SO many creators & particularly children.

I find it a HORRIBLE business strategy & detrimental to creating a credible bookshop. As someone who ordered books for a wide range of shops for Waterstones, I know it’ll only hurt their sales by limiting their range & scope. Who wants to see the same titles over & over again?

Your emotion and passion are your strength 💜 Thank you for your wonderful books. We are expanding our reading curriculum this year, and are planning to read Front Desk AND Three Keys with our fourth graders. We have conversations I never could have dreamed of having as a kid.
