Last night, we at
@linear
hosted a design leadership event. We invited about ~25 design leaders from top companies to join
@lil_dill
and me to discuss b2b design, quality, and craft.
There were many good comments and questions that came out of this. I'll try to see if I can…

Another reason why good design is less found in large enterprise software is because the barrier of entry to building something useful for B2B is a lot higher than B2C. You usually need a certain amount of industry knowledge and experience to create any semblance of a useful /…

In certain domains, it’s more difficult to imagine how the buyers and users might eventually merge. For example, in the data tooling world, you’ll genuinely need CISO/CTO level sign-off to touch any data — it’s basically table stakes. As a result, the incentives lean towards…

Thanks for the insights!
Do you see the industry focus shifting from design in the next 5-10 years, and if yes, where to? What would
@linear
be focusing on after 5-10 years from now?

This is so good. As a a designer working on b2b products and knowing the daily struggle of convincing managment for more design driven business decisions I would really love if you could share some more knowledge and insights about this topic in the future🖤

+1 to earlier comments.1 challenge for designers in enterprise settings is advocating for clear problem statements based on good enough research on the domain & workflow with qual/quant success metrics & advocating for business goals of retention and user satisfaction
