In 2006, I played "Happy Together" at a Sox game. The songwriter, Alan Gordon, heard it on the broadcast & sent me this beautiful letter. Alan succumbed to cancer not long after, which led me to cherish the letter even more.

Today is the 1,500th consecutive Fenway Park Red Sox game I've had the privilege and honor of playing the organ music for. I'm filled with gratitude for my very supportive colleagues and for everyone who's ever offered encouragement or enjoyed something I played.
Get your magnifying glass; here are the 873 song requests I played on the Fenway organ in 2019. Thank you to all whose participation/encouragement makes my dream job so fun and weird.
15 years ago today, I was summoned to Fenway Park for a callback audition that culminated with a Red Sox executive asking, "And are you available for all 81 home games?" 🎹⚾
If there's ever been a better singer than Mavis Staples, I haven't heard them. The thrill and profoundness of playing "I'll Take You There" with Mavis last night was beyond description.
You could tell me that this is a map of a section of Plymouth, Massachusetts, or you could tell me it's the tracklist of a James Taylor album. Either way, I would believe you.
We are so EXCITED to announce that we will be … inducted into the 2021 Rock Hall of Fame!! 🤩💖🎶 Women have always been a vital part of the ever changing music business and we are so proud to have our success story honored and recognized by the

Happy 73rd birthday, Stevie!
Trying to pick my favorite Stevie Wonder album is like trying to pick my favorite kid, if I had, like, 30 super awesome kids.
The Super Bowl kickoff always fills me with such excitement and anticipation because I know we're finally less than four hours away from talking about baseball for the next nine months.
Imagine my surprise at learning from this recent Adult Swim video that Steve Albini knows of me and knows of (and apparently appreciates) my ridiculous ethos. h/t
@JeremySparks
Felt good to get back this year to doing the dumb thing I do. Thanks to everyone who submitted one of these 705 requests that I played. And if your name/band/song appears on this list, congratulations and/or I apologize.
Closed out the Red Sox' World Series Game 2 victory with Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good," Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers' "The Fenway," and
@TheCribs
' "I Gotta Go to L.A." on the Fenway organ.
1 year ago: Maybelle Blair (Peoria Redwings) & Shirley Burkovich (Rockford Peaches) of 1943-1954 All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. They've visited 100s of ballparks & said I was the 1st to play their fight song. I cried. Then they said there's no crying in baseball
I try not to post too much about my gigs, but I have this six-month residency playing covers at a little outdoor venue on the other side of the river starting soon. Come say hi.
Infinite thanks to the wonderful folks at the National
@BaseballHall
of Fame and Museum for showing me the archives and letting me swing the bat Ted Williams used on August 11, 1955, to collect his 2,000th hit.
I’m in the post-vax observation area. They’re showing a video of highlights from Opening Day at Fenway three weeks ago, so I’m listening to myself play while waiting 15 minutes to make sure I don’t pass out. It’s very surreal.
Last year, I played 380 different songs by request at Fenway. This year, I’ve played 401 so far, and we're not even at the All-Star break yet.

I didn't get to stream the pre-primetime Grammy show, but I assume that Portugal the Man, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, The War on Drugs, Aimee Mann, and Jason Isbell all thanked me for playing organ instrumentals of their 2017 songs at baseball games.
Gospel Music Hall-of-Famers AND Country Music Hall-of-Famers The Oak Ridge Boys sang the national anthem before today's Red Sox game. I played "Elvira" on the organ. Next thing I know, they're up in the booth.

Opening Day two years ago: someone in the stands told me, "I see Kay from Letters to Cleo sitting near me... can you play 'Here and Now?'," and then after the game I received this video.
They must not have been at the game, because everyone who was here yesterday listening to the Pride Night jams that DJ
@SenatorJohn
and I were laying down is now gay.
Hi gang. My parents are at the World Series game tonight, so if we could all just pretend for the next few hours that I am totally normal and respectable, I would really appreciate that.
Ten billion thanks to baseball super-fan GEDDY LEE for inviting me to play a bunch of organ instrumental versions of
@RushTheBand
songs for prelude and intermission at his memoir talk at The Orpheum in Boston.
scene at the Fenway organ perch yesterday...
* 9-year-old kid: So you can hear a song and then play it?
* Me: Usually, yes.
* Kid: Wow, you're just like Stevie Wonder!
* Me: I am going to adopt you now.
Looks like they're gonna try to put on some concerts this summer at the Harborlights Bank of Boston BankBoston FleetBoston Bank of America Blue Hills Bank Rockland Trust Bank Leader Bank Pavilion.
Happy 15th anniversary of the Mirabelli police escort game. He got to Van Ness St. three minutes before Wakefield's 1st pitch; as he sprinted to the clubhouse to put on pads & spikes, the umpires grew impatient, and a team exec got on the production headset and told me to stall.
Today's Boston Globe asked 36 local music nerds to each write 150 words about their favorite album. I had a hard time editing down my 7,500-word first draft, but here's the end result.
Reverend Mary (my better half, seated in the background of this photo in her clerical garb) got arrested today for her participation in The Poor People's Campaign. She is home now and doing OK. I am, as always, very proud of her commitment to justice.
