How normal is it to have heavy snow THIS late in April? well...this is the latest #yeg has had 5+ cm of snow in April since..........2019. it also snowed AFTER April 20th in 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013. so...like it or not...this is pretty normal. #yegwx

The June/July drought in #yeg is unprecedented in the past 30 years. Just 29 mm of precip at the Blatchford wx station this year. Average is 171 mm. The only other years with less than 100 mm are 2002, 2015 & 1992. We're at HALF of the previous 30yr record low. #yegwx

It has now snowed in September in Edmonton for 3 consecutive years (& 4 of the past 5 years). So...we shouldn't be TOO surprised. AND...at least it hasn't snowed in August lately. the last time that happened was 1992. #yeg #yegwx
