BREAKING: Texas emergency management officials chartered a private plane and flew 150 migrants to Chicago Tuesday evening, the first time a private plane has been used by the state to bring migrants to the city from Texas.

The joy our community shared yesterday was absolutely magical. A Humboldt Park kid just wanting to change the world was inaugurated into City Council yesterday.
“The progressive uprising of recent years has given

Thank you to every supporter and volunteer who took this journey with me: to everyone who dedicated hours, days, and nights to this campaign — because YOU believed in our ability to lead our own community.
This is just the beginning!

This morning, I stood with fellow LGBTQ leaders & elected officials to set the record straight on Paul Vallas’s record. We need a Mayor that’ll fight to protect the LGBTQ community & more importantly stand on a platform that elevates our LGBTQ siblings.

The reporting on this is terrible. The ballot measure that Ray Lopez is proposing is a non-binding referendum, so no laws would change - our sanctuary status has NOTHING to do with the asylum crisis. Rooted in Xenophobia.
Moments after the presiding officer tried to adjourn the meeting, and after the lights had already been shut off, Ald Ray Lopez walked up to an empty dais and made a motion to recess a hectic City Council meeting using his hand in the absence of a gavel.
While I’ve been busy running a people powered campaign reaching voters across the ward, my opponent & FOP have been busy using my juvenile record & lies to smear my character & this campaign. From day 1 I’ve been transparent about who I am. My opponent hasn’t.

Would love for us to work on the issues in our communities rather than showing up to a special meeting that is solely politically motivated and seeks to disrupt our progressive political project.
The Latino Caucus of the Chicago City Council condemns the cynical and politically motivated attempt to remove Alderperson Byron Sigcho Lopez from his leadership position as Chair of the Committee on Housing and Real Estate.
Good morning! Today I filed my petitions for 26th Ward Democratic Committeeperson. We will work to increase the voter turnout, engage young people in the electoral process and bring community voices to the table.
