Fun facts re Scotland:
- Lyndon Dykes averaging way more headers than anyone else at the tournament. Currently on 21.3 per 90 - Kieffer Moore second on 12.5, less than 10 wonโt get you in the top 4.
- Grant Hanley is winning more of his headers than anyone else - 86.7% so far.
Lawwell's line about how Celtic had been affected more by the pandemic than any other club really pissed me off, so I've gone in studs-up. RIP mentions.
Ian McCall and Dougie Imrie both serving touchline bans this evening, meaning that Thistle v Morton will be played with both managers sitting in the stand.
Classic cinch.
๐จJags contract updates ๐จ
Ian McCall expects Tunji Akinola, Jamie Sneddon and Zak Rudden to sign contract extensions within the next few days ๐
We know that life remains extremely tough at the moment so we are pleased that supporters who required a ST refund took up the option.
We thank all Thistle fans who have chosen to leave their refund with the club - your kindness is humbling and appreciated by all at Firhill.
There were a lot of impressive things about Hearts' win at Celtic Park, but Beni Baningime really stood out to me.
Naismith has often talked about the need for players to be brave on the ball in and out of possession, and no one typified that more than Baningime.

๐จ Self-indulgent personal news update ๐จ
Sundayโs match at Tynecastle was my last game on the Thistle beat.
Itโs been an amazing four years and they have been anything but quiet: Colin Weir buying a majority stake; the demotion to League One; the court case; the Covid (1/6)
I got a bit carried away. A long, long read on Archieโs time as
@PartickThistle
manger and what the future holds.
Oh, and we talk about the 12 Archibalds of Christmas. I couldnโt resist.
Partick Thistle is now officially a fan-owned club, and I was fortunate enough to be invited along as it was all rubber-stamped.
My thoughts on a big, big day at Firhill ๐ญ
I watched the Motherwell game back yesterday and was really impressed with how Atkinson and Oda linked up down the right.
In my view, Oda being brought on changed the game for Hearts.
Here's why...

Itโs taken 16 months, two lockdowns and one relegation but I think this might just be the day I report on my first Thistle win.
3-0 up with 20 to go. This has to be the one!

๐ฃ โIf I could have picked a club it would have been here. I always enjoyed playing here, it is a great pitch, stadium and a club. They were so unlucky last season and hopefully we can go one better this year.โ
Aidan Denholm was only on the pitch for second-half stoppage time against Livingston, but that didn't stop the midfielder from making a big impression in a short space of time.
Creating chances, winning fouls, pressing well and indulging in the dark arts - Denholm did it all

Iโve written a column about the fan ownership situation at Thistle.
TL;DR: โFans deserve better than the Kafkaesque charade that is playing out before their very eyes.โ

Was trying to get this stood up but seems safe to say now - Iโm told there is a board meeting taking place tomorrow, where much of the board will be stepping down.Looks like regime change at Firhill.
Big news for
@PartickThistle
fans. My info is that chair Jacqui Low and all but one of the directors are to step away, with the Firhill club preparing to accept their resignations. Iโm also expecting further announcements regarding
@Jags_Foundation

@ptfctrust
working together
Partick Thistle are back in action today, almost exactly one year on from the initial lockdown.
This is the story of the last 12 months as told by Ian McCall, Jacqui Low and Gerry Britton.
PS - itโs a long one so grab yourself a cuppa.
๐ฃ โHe was starting to dictate the game, telling everybody what to do, where the ball should go, when we play forward, when we should keep the ball in the final third, when to risk it.โ
Naismith praised Tait as the catalyst behind Hearts' comeback against Dundee.
Here's why ๐งต
As far as I can tell, Montrose will become the first Scottish team in about a century to play two games in less than 40 hours this weekend.
Itโs an utterly, utterly ludicrous situation.
"Itโs the sort of farce that would leave even Oscar Wilde rolling his eyes in disbelief."

Maybe not the best time for this given what's happened today, but if you're a

fan looking for some light relief from today's events then this should give you five or ten minutes' peace.
๐ฃ โSave The Jags was a line in the sand โ the money came in, it got us over the line and then we were back to normal. This time the fans are part of the long-term solution.โ
There's rarely a dull moment at Firhill, and the past week or so has been no exception โ
Here's a brief explainer of everything that's going on with the Jags' finances ๐ฐ
๐ฃ โTo come here three-and-a-bit years ago and score more than 50 goals, win a league and then with a chance to get into the Premiership โ itโs the stuff of dreams at my age.โ
๐ Calem Nieuwenhof is one of the first names on Naismith's team sheet at the moment, and it isn't hard to see why.
He was once again excellent on Sunday, and the way he drove forward into good positions is something that Hearts fans have been crying out for all season.

Brian Graham has now hit 50 goals for Thistle, but he could have very easily walked away when he had just three.
In the space of a few months, he went from playing Premiership football to League One - but he had some wrongs to right before he could leave
Hearts laboured for long stretches against Killie on Saturday and struggled to find a way through.
It felt as though nobody was making the line-breaking runs that were required, but Macaulay Tait was.
They just weren't being picked up by his team-mates.

Steven Bell was only meant to be at Thistle for a couple of months but yesterday the 36-year-old signed a one-year deal for the upcoming season.

This morning's announcement about fan ownership should have been a galvanising moment for Thistle fans but instead, it's left many outraged. I've tried to explain why here
Iโve been asked to clarify why there was a break in recording in my interview with the Trust. The reason is that I donโt have a Zoom pro account, and the timer ran out on the call. We then started up again on a new call. A bit embarrassing for me but there you go!
๐ฃ โWith Fitzy and Tiff in the team, they have so much pace. Stevie Lawless has the brains and experience, as does big Brian Graham. As a team it just seems to work for us.โ

Injury list at Firhill down to just five - OโWare (still at least a month), Williamson (back in training but probs not match fit), Lyons (back in a few days), Reilly (back in a week) and Docherty (*hopefully* back in training next week).
Clean bill of health other than that.
Sad to see Cardle go. Thought he played a very big role this season and wouldโve had something to offer in the Championship. Understandable given his age, but still.
Wishing him all the best - we wouldnโt have won the league without him.
We can today confirm that Joe Cardle will leave the Club upon the expiry of his contract later this month.
Everyone at Partick Thistle sincerely thanks Joe for his contribution in red and yellow over the last two and a half years and wish him the very best in his future career.
Wee transfer update from Ian McCall, says Thistle have made โa lot of progressโ on signings but they wonโt be done by Sat.

Thistle fans have already seen Tiffoney, Turner, Docherty and Holt depart this summer for nothing - but they shouldn't expect any more high-profile exits this summer โ
Tunes on, beers in and savouring a comfortable Thistle win in the league. This honestly hasnโt happened in years.
Maybe this football nonsense isnโt so depressing after all. A good bit of fun, even.
One for Partick Thistle fans!
I know there will be those who arenโt sure about fan ownership or want to learn more about how it all works, so hopefully this piece answers any questions you might have.
Understand why some fans are upset by this but seems like the right thing to do. Protecting jobs has to be the priority.
Thistle have conducted themselves brilliantly during the pandemic and this adds to that IMO. Weโve seen the best of the club recently, long may it continue.
Can confirm that after the fourth went in, McCall was screaming at Banzo to keep the intensity up right from kick-off. Really encouraging to see Thistle (finally!) turn dominance into goals and put a game to bed.
โToo many times this season weโve been guilty of wasting chances and keeping things close as a result so today it was great to see us go and get that third and fourth goal."
๐ฃ๏ธ Ian McCall ๐ฃ๏ธ
The fan ownership situation at Thistle is getting ugly. Iโve tried my best to get answers to what I believe are legitimate concerns - Iโll leave it to fans to decide if theyโre happy with the clubโs response.
๐ฃ "Throughout the year you will see academy players, young players, because I think itโs important for the club that we have to try to breed some of our own players - and to do that they need games."

The PTFC Trust have said they want greater communication with fans. In that spirit, Iโve written up our entire interview the other day as a two-part Q&A. Hereโs part 1:
Caley Thistle coming out to bat for Partick Thistle, Hearts, Stranraer, Kelty Hearts and Brora Rangers, insisting that threats and bullying did take place. Strong stuff.
๐ฃ "Those who regard football clubs as playthings will not stride the corridors of power at Firhill ever again, and the unfortunate developments at Barnsley have shown precisely why they shouldnโt."
