oh god why alright, this'll be a long one TC is the closest thing we have to an asymmetric game mode where one team has to iteratively take and secure map control while the other team (usually) has free rein to use the map to its fullest extent.

We are almost in 2024 and I still have no clue why we, as a community, still force ourselves to play all 4 ranked modes. I've been advocating for SZ only for years, other people for even longer, but I have yet to hear anyone genuinely say something good about TC/RM/CB.

"machine is finally dead" it's been dead for like 4 patches, but we keep having to dig up and reanimate its desiccated corpse because no other aoe weapon in the game has the kit and capabilities needed to win games it will just feel even more awful to play, but we will play it

handy hint! if you've activated crab and you're definitely going to die (e.g. to booyah or tri strike), just stay unrolled and die without your crab breaking if your crab doesn't break before you die, your special gauge doesn't reset and you keep a good chunk of your gauge

I think a lot of the recurring problems with clam blitz would be solved if superjumping with a power clam made you drop it on landing I think it's great to be able to jump with them but the whole instant throw on landing thing always has been the source of every problem with CB

I've said many times on stream and I'll say it again here. Do not take anything that happens in the first six--maybe twelve--months of Splatoon 3 seriously. Tournaments at this point are for a bit of fun and adrenaline only; competitive viability is not a priority.

I'm guessing what they mean by the inkstorm change is that you heal as though you're swimming, even when you're standing. so swimming hp recovery should be unchanged, but if you're fighting you'll go back to full hp really fast. which is the kind of bold change we need more of.

to dramatically oversimplify without also insulting the players in question, teams encounter friction when it becomes clear that they don't all share the same outlook on the game. in luti you spend a week preparing for a match; losing shines a light on these differences.
