This is my story, how my accident happened and how I ended up in a wheelchair. I'm blessed to be alive today and be as happy as I've ever been. You'll never find a better sparring partner than adversity, trust me! Please retweet this to help others! 👊❤️

Like I have to said here before, my main goal is to be able to push myself in a manual wheelchair. Today was the very first time since my accident almost 5 years ago that I had the strength to push my arms down forwards against a resistance band! Give this a Retweet 💪🏋♂️
That time of year again 2 days after my birthday I'm marking 6 years since my accident. I had my accident on 2 wheels and I now live my life on 4 wheels. It hasn't been easy and yes I have my shit days but don't we all? People are constantly telling me I am an inspiration and
Please Re-tweet 💚 For every high in life, unfortunately there's a low in life. I have been through hell of alot in life, more than people can see trust me I have been to hell and back. There has been times I have hit rock bottom, and I mean Rock bottom, which is absolutely
Im living a great life now and I look forward to the future. I am going to get married💍and have children👶and its something I look forward to🙏 Just because my path is different doesnt mean that I am lost. The only disability in life is a bad attitude!

Four broken bones in my neck, severed spinal cord, bleeds to the brain, collapsed lung, on life support paralysed from the shoulders down and put into a medically induced coma and I still fought my way through it all with a smile on my face. Be happy with what you have while
Today was a very proud day for me. Over the last couple of years my aim was to reach a goal that I always knew that I would achieve. I can proudly say that today I have finally built up enough strength to drive my wheelchair independently with my hand on a joystick. Retweet 🙏
Great to meet Roy Keane today 🇮🇪 When I asked him what he thought of what was going on in Manchester United, I got the infamous Roy Keane look 👀 and that look told me everything I needed to know 😂❤

It's always good to get back up on my own two feet whenever I get a chance to with the support of my tilt table. After sitting down for so long it's a great feeling stretching out my muscles. Im going to keep working away until I'm kicking points for Kerry! 💚💛
Please Retweet 🔄
Today was an extremely proud and exciting day for me. As you know I currently drive my chair using my head on my headrest as my arms didn’t have the strength. But today I got a joystick fitted on my wheelchair and I have now built up enough strength and movement in my arm to use
Retweet if you enjoy! With a spinal cord injury and in particular mine which is so high up in my spine the less movement I am going to have. Basically wrist/finger movement are last to regain and arm movement usually comes back first. I was told I would never move a muscle again
I don't know about you but I don't find Joanne Cantwell great at times. Some awful questions to some players last night. Makes interviews awkward & on the The Sunday Game doesn't let pundits speak without interrupting.

Back in the office today for my first gym session of the year. 30 seconds on then 30 seconds off for 25 reps on the assault bike. 2023 will be the year I show you all what you are capable of and what you can achieve! 2023 watch the space. Give this a Retweet please 🙌❤️
Very slowly, bit by bit I will get to where I want to and where I know I can get be! I am nowhere near where I want to be but on the other hand I am nowhere near where I used to be! Don’t compare your progress to that of others. We need our own time to travel our own distance💪🙂
Retweet this to raise awareness! ❤️
Just came across these 2 pictures of myself and it's the last few pictures I took before my accident happened. Little did I know that I would never take a proper picture of myself standing up again, but unfortunately it was! One day I was out
Another bit of progress today, usually when I am working on the assault bike in the gym as you can see here in the video, I previously had to use a strap to hold my body upright as I didn't have enough strength and core stability to hold myself upright 👨🦽
As you can see in the

From day 1 I wasn't given a chance. I was told I would be on Life support and would have to be on a ventilator 24/7 I overcame that in 80 days and took my first breath of Dublin fresh air without a ventilator 🫁

Happy Birthday to the best mother I could ever ask for. Hope you had a great day and thank you for absolutely everything you do for me. I wouldn't be anywhere near I am today without you, I hope people realise that! Thank you, lots of love ❤️ 🙌
Life has knocked me down a few times. It has showed me things I never wanted to see. I experienced adversity and failures. But one thing is for sure. I always get up 💪👨🦽

It's the small things for me that are the simple things to you! This morning I went for a morning coffee before a busy day ahead ☕ Instead of having someone lifting up the coffee to me every time I took matters in to my own hands 👐

Another huge milestone I reached today, for the first time since my accident as I was able to lift this 6KG ball completely off my lap all by myself. It's taken 5 years but if it had taken 10 years I would still chip away every single day until I was able to lift it 🏋♂️💪
It's the smallest of things for me that fill me with happiness and today I had one of those moments. I've been able to do things like press the button to call a lift before but today for the first time I was successfully able to turn on the light switch when I was at work! 💡👊
Please retweet 🙏 As a man that owns my disability and I hate that word, I rather say that I'm able bodied with limitations. I use my platform to show that the only disability in life is a bad attitude. When I had my accident I broke 4 bones in my neck, completely severed my
I have tickets for "Up for the match" tonight on

so keep an eye out for me in the audience and I am watching the All-Ireland Final in a corporate box in Croke Park on Sunday! An action packed weekend & hopefully bringing Sam back to

What I would give to have one more run out midfield playing for my beloved team
@gaa_spa
. It was actually 1 of the hardest things I had to face after my accident. My body froze when I got the news I wouldn't play football again, and I can still feel the pain I felt when I was
Success isn’t overnight. It’s when every day you get a little better than the day before. It all adds up, and I have been seeing that! Especially over the last five or six months it has all been worth it. Trust the process 📈

What a pathetic tweet, the scrutiny David Clifford is getting online is nothing short of embarrassing! He's a big reason Kerry got to the final. One "bad" game and he isn't player of the year? His consistency has been amazing all year. Put some respect on his name 🐐💚💛
Clifford was smoked against Dublin and poor against Tyrone yet still ppl think he is footballer of the year. Not for me - James Mc led Dublin to glory without having his best day yest! He’s a born winner and leader.
You could hear a pin drop in the audience tonight listening to this man Willa White's story about growing up and his story about recovery and addiction. Very special interview this was 👏

A few words I said last night at my father's Birthday party. I thought it was only right I said it on the microphone for everyone to hear it. You can obviously see and hear that I got extremely emotional and started to break down. It just goes to show what an amazing father he is
It's the smallest things like flicking on a light switch that brings me the most joy as they are the things that I did before my accident and now the things that you take for granted. Everyday you wake up & can turn on & off your bedroom light, count your blessings! Retweet 🔁
One day your on your feet, the next day you are on your arse! With every breath you take, someone just took their last. Stop complaining about life. It has given you much more than what you appreciate. Trust me 🙏👨🦽

I made progress in strengthening my arms last year especially my right arm. Your body can stand almost anything. Its your mind that you have to convince. They told me I couldnt. I have proven medical professionals wrong before and I dont plan on stopping anytime soon. God bless🙏
Another year around the sun and its time for chapter 22. Thank you so much to everyone who has dropped me a message, post, or wishing me a Happy Birthday I really appreciate it! Here is to chapter 2️⃣2️⃣ 🥳
Very unprofessional & disrespectful. Of course she knows more about the camp than any of us but this is very bitter. Egotistical and undermining the manager. It will be interesting to see will it be 5 or 6 nil they will win by at the weekend without Vera holding them back! (1/3)

Another workout before the weekend. Today I had a black resistance band around my chest/core which is the strongest resistance band I have done. I am pushing out towards the resistance 12×10 times. After my accident my core was non existence, now look! 🏋♂️💪

Tough day for David and Paudie Clifford who are starting for Kerry today. I think that I speak for everyone in the county of Kerry that their mom would be proud of them. Not easy for them to do and it just goes to show the dedication and professionals they are 💚💛
Great day today, and I got to meet a Manchester United Legend Bryan Robson. I would have taken a draw before the whistle given the form both teams have been in. My first time getting back to Old Trafford since I had my accident. Fucking love this club ❤️⚽️
If I had listened to that nurse that told me I would regain 0% movement I would never have even tried, luckily I didn't listen to her. I think no matter what field or wherever path you are on there is going to be people who are going to doubt you and not even going to give you
A year can make a huge difference to the human body, it's you against you and how bad do you want it. To you there might be very little difference in both these videos but for me it is night and day 💪❤️
#ifyoucantstandupstandout
Please retweet! 6 years ago today lying in the rehab hospital, I got to see my real first bit of quality movement, and I took this video and sent it to half of Ireland, bursting with pride. It was slow and stubborn, but so what? I would rather slow improvement rather than delayed
Rest In Peace to my beautiful Nana🙏
Im grateful for all the good times we had together. It was sudden and unexpected which makes it even harder😓
You are reunited with Grandad now👼
Rest easy nana I love you so much❤
Thanks so much to everyone for your messages and support🙌

regarding a Derry player going down very easily "He is gone down like he's been attacked by Conor Mcgregor and he will get back up like he went to Lourdes" can't beat local radio 😂👏
@radiokerrysport
Working on my core today in the gym with a strong resistance band around my body as I push out against the resistance and slowly control the speed I let my body back at as you can see in the video. It's important that I have as much stability as I can 👨🦽

So hard seeing Charlie Bird like this. Fair play to him for being so strong. The hardest thing that you can ever do is fight reality, because you will loose every time!

You cant practice in the zoo, if you want to thrive in the wild🦁 I done 35 minutes on the Skierg machine today in the gym🎿 My main goal this year is to strengthen my arms and build enough strength to be able to push myself in a manual push wheelchair👨🦽

Happy Birthday. You have been through the highest of highs and most importantly the lowest of lows lows with me, you were there with me when I had my accident and you were by my side when I was on life support and your are still putting up with me today! It's all love brother ❤️
The only thing standing between you and outrageous success is continuous progress and im not slowing down anytime soon! 👀🙌

I'm nowhere near where I want to be but I'm nowhere near where I used to be. Sometimes we base our success and progress on the success others make, but doing this can hold us back. We’re better served by believing in ourselves and basing our ideas of success on ourselves 🤝🙌
This is what the GAA means to most of us down in Kerry, green and gold running through our veins! Unbelievable scenes seeing the Kerry team bringing Sam home in both Killarney and Tralee this evening. Things you love to see 💚💛

The skierg machine has quickly become one of my favourite top 3 exercises to do in the gym. You can see that after a while, my core starts to get tired. It works my triceps and my abdominal muscles specifically, which are vital for me for stability, etc. No shortcuts, just hard
What's the difference between a poor man and a rich man? A mindset🧠
Thats it, just a mindset. I have learned over the last 4 years that the mind and brain is the strongest thing that we have the power over and us as individuals are the only people who can control our mindset👀
It was great to meet
@rachaelblackmor
for a while today in person, and what a legend she is. It was brilliant seeing all the youngsters coming up to her, who I'm sure she has inspired. She is a brilliant role model and a down to earth person. Looking forward to catching up again
On the Skierg machine today in the gym. Of course my physio rubbed it in today giving me 7 reps and everything to do with the number 7 today because United lost 7-0 at the weekend. God help him when this left hand is strong enough to throw a punch 😂👊🥊

One thing that brings joy to me and always raises my spirits are dogs. After my accident when I had absolutely 0% movement, the one thing that killed me was I wasn't able to pat a dog at all, due to having no movement whatsoever! 🐶
Ever since I have gained enough movement in my
Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit. All through my 9 months in hospital after my accident with every challenge I faced, be it getting off life support or learning to get my speech back again, I always told myself I might fail in doing so today
Happy Fathers day to the most patient father out there, for putting up with me every day! Thank you for everything that you do for me and I appreciate it! 👊🙏

The formula for success is 2% talent, 8% luck, and 90% of showing up every day. Sometimes in life there's times we have to do something or have places to go and that voice tells us otherwise, it's about convincing that voice differently. The mind is powerful 🤝
@TheSundayGame
Some great points made by
@DonalOgC
about the lack of coverage of hurling on RTE. Its so refreshing seeing
@jacquihurley
sitting back leaving the lads get their points across without interrupting. I can think of someone else who would have shut them down right away!
A few doughnuts on a sunny day. One of the most important things that has been important for me since my accident is having a sense of humour. Weather it's something like this video. Everyone has a sense of humor. If you don't laugh at jokes, you probably laugh at opinions.
You can see the video of me in work today putting my desk up and down to the correct height in order to allow me to roll in under it. It's the small things like this that brings a smile to my face, it might be something small to you but it's something huge to me 🙌👊
Absolutely delighted to tell ye that I have been shortlisted for the Gay Byrne "Newcomer" of the year award in the

The first time I tried this I got stuck at the bottom of the escalator and a traffic jam built up behind me banging their trolleys into each other. It has taken me ages to build up confidence to try again. Especially as I drive my wheelchair with my head! Retweet this 💙
Whatever about the other red cards this tackle on Paudie Clifford was a disgusting! No place in GAA for these kind of tackles. It was a bad end to a decent game. Not the first time we have seen this kind of behavior. It happens when things aren't going your way!
