Absurd to delist Nexon EV for not meeting ARAI mileage claims in real world. No car in India that does! By this yardstick, every EV should be delisted & action taken against IC engine cars too, esp turbo-petrols.
@autocarindiamag
FE test closest you get to real world numbers.
Delhi government delists Nexon EV from subsidy scheme.
@TataMotors
stands by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI)-certified 312km range on single full charge for the Nexon EV in its reply to showcause notice issued by Delhi Transport Commission

If, as you say, no car in India meets the ARAI mileage claims then it’s high time to revisit the testing means and set more realistic standards. At the end of the day it’s unfair to mislead customers!! Guess Tata is simply paying the price for years of industry malpractice
@shreyanskasliwa
@autocarindiamag
Not ARAI’s fault. Any laboratory test procedure hard to replicate on road. Need of our is customer education to know difference.
@autocarindiamag
fuel efficiency figures come closest to real world driving.

True why penalize EV industry which needs boosting up! this kind of step is going to dissuade new EV buyers from planning to buy a EV as its the cheapest of the lot!

@autocarindiamag
Tata Motors and Tata brand stand for perhaps the best “Honest brands “. The brand Tata doesn’t employ “other means” to get their products listed.

Running out of charge in middle of nowhere is more annoying than running out of fuel. At least you can get fuel and fill the tank but where will you charge a dead battery? So it is critical that EV manufacturers give accurate range not overhype it.
@hormazdsorabjee
@autocarindiamag
Range testing system of ARAI is a fraud. Glad Delhi govt. pulled them up. But more importantly the consumer will suffer because of the loss of this subsidy/tax break.
@hormazdsorabjee
@autocarindiamag
Wise words sir !!
These kind of actions demoralise the very adaption of EVs at large amd puts suspicion in minds of an owner or to be owner.
@hormazdsorabjee
@autocarindiamag
Completely agree with you sir.
Looks like an attempt to malign image of
@TataMotors
after they have successfully done commendable job with Nexon EV. Not at all wise decision by kejriwal govt.

Good step, as u mentioned turbo petrols, don’t think any of them are subsidised. In India car makers take people for a ride, quoting the mileage which can never be achieved in real time conditions.
