Very boring for somebody in the NY lit scene to interview their friend about their debut book and write about how they're the voice of their generation, yet again, because they write in updated-alt-lit-internet-speak

"We’d originally planned on having lunch, but she is, I guess, too wound up, telling me in a baby voice, 'Every time I eat, I get really sweepy,' followed by a girlish giggle."

What I'd like to know is: are the books that don't get published and the authors who don't get profiled these days more often the inverse of this (i.e., good) than before, or are they somehow even worse??
I know what my own experience tells me, but that may not be dispositive...

"Levy grew up in L.A.’s Silver Lake neighborhood. Her mother is a celebrity makeup artist (with clients including Tracee Ellis Ross and Olivia Wilde), and her father directed B movies in the ’90s". Of course. What an annoying interview.
