Yeah, our book has come out! A sequel to the 2004 volume of ‘Mapping Vulnerability’. About vulnerability in the era of resilience and the politics of Disaster Risk Creation (DRC). Including some of the original authors like

voor deze steunbetuiging. Tot vrijdag 12 uur zit ik bij de ingang van de Tweede Kamer op het prinses Irenepad. Een wake voor alle slachtoffers van het conflict en vasten uit compassie met de hongersnood in Gaza.
Met een vastenwake voor Gaza maant hoogleraar Thea Hilhorst de regering tot effectieve actie om Israël te dwingen tot een staakt-het-vuren en vrije toegang van hulpgoederen. The Rights Forum steunt dit initiatief en roept burgers en organisaties op zich erbij aan te sluiten.
Wat je ook vindt van het verbreken van universitaire banden, na dit artikel kun je niet meer aanvoeren dat er geen relatie is tussen universiteiten en de oorlog.
De Joods-Israëlische antropoloog Maya Wind onderzocht in haar nieuwe boek de verwevenheid van Israëlische universiteiten met de staat en het leger, en pleit voor een academische boycot.

Na precies 100 uur vasten is de Vastenwake voor Gaza geëindigd met drie minuten stilte voor alle slachtoffers van de oorlog. De wake gaf uitdrukking aan een gevoel van machteloosheid. En er is de hoop dat alle kleine akties samen verschil gaan maken.

Mijn vader is vandaag 50 jaar geleden overleden. Een halve eeuw. We hebben maar twee keer met elkaar kunnen kamperen - hier in 1970 in Spanje. Onvergeten herinneringen aan een vader die alles voor ons deed en bij wie ik me intens veilig en beschermd voelde.
