@cjtackett Please point to the clause that says only white families can access these benefits.

"Get married, stay married, and be fruitful and multiply" is the tag line for Texas HB2889. Stay married - 10% tax reduction Have 2 kids - 40% tax reduction Have 10 kids - 100% reduction This is handmaids tale, where women are pushed to be broodmares. They want more white kids.

@cjtackett Texas could literally cure cancer and give everybody a free unicorn, and these people would still have a problem with it because TEXAS BAD has been programmed into their heads.

@hemingquay @cjtackett It's about property tax. Take a look at the demographics of who owns homes and who can afford to buy them. A law doesn't have to say "whites" to be racist in its impact, and legislators know that.

@BullwinkleFan @cjtackett So, to be clear, you'd tell a Hispanic couple with three kids that they shouldn't have access to this benefit because it also benefits white people? Sorry brown kids, guess you have to grow up poor. Also, minority families have more kids.

@Pint0_DK @cjtackett Please look a middle-class black couple in the eyes and tell them they don't deserve a tax break because white people will also benefit. You're literally taking bread out of minority kids' mouths and acting like you're helping them. Wild.

@hemingquay @cjtackett Please point to the part of this thread where he says that only whites can access these benefits. This bill is all about shifting wealth to white men in particular and removing women from the workforce. Making excuses for it's authors is pretty weak for someone in journalism...

@hemingquay @cjtackett More white people own homes in Texas, so this would effectively create more white children. If that’s not the intent, pull the bill for discrimination and find a new incentive if you’re smart enough, and if it is the intent, well, this just forced Christian bigotry once more.

@Anthony_Alaniz @cjtackett Why bring up Christianity? Most black and Hispanic Texans are also Christian.

@RockyMountViews @cjtackett No because those children will grow up and get jobs and pay taxes for your social security and Medicare. We live in a society.

@T3hL1ttle3ngine @cjtackett It’s dumb because only people who own property pay property taxes. The people mad that this benefits whites more are basically saying they want non-white families to be exempted from taxes they already don’t pay.

@hemingquay @cjtackett You can't propose legislation for one group. That is unconstitutional. So you use other factors to make your legislation geared toward the group you want. Because this bill is for the land owners, it will be mostly for whites.
