If every member of the House had been present today, we would be debating a federal integrity commission right now. We had the majority. The government only won on a technicality in the standing orders that is undemocratic during the pandemic.

The Prime Minister just shut down the House of Representatives to ram through a Bill weakening our environmental laws with no debate. This contempt for our democracy beggars belief. This was a deplorable move by the Government and I condemn them wholly for it.

Let’s be clear what’s going on here: 1. The PM hasn’t exercised leadership. And he hasn’t enforced Ministerial Standards. He’s just letting Mr Porter resign from Cabinet because the conflict of interest ‘optics’ are bad. Democracy shouldn’t be ‘optics’👇

Today at 4:30pm, after 16 months of obfuscation, the Government finally - and quietly - released the "Regions at the Ready: Investing in their Future" expert report. I've been working since the day I was elected to get the Coalition to release this report. Here's why👇

I'm glad Labor is joining my push for an integrity commission. My Australian Federal Integrity Commission Bill is ready to go - there's no need to wait for an election. I look forward to Labor backing my Bill in Parliament.

We have wasted so many years with the Coalition fighting itself over climate action. Regional Australia could gain so much from strong and sensible climate action. But instead of seizing that opportunity, the Liberals and Nationals are too busy squabbling.

I’ll be on @theprojecttv tonight talking about my Bill for a Federal Integrity Commission. I’m introducing my Bill tomorrow and am calling on the Government to #BringOnDebate . The public are sick to the teeth of corruption and wrongdoing. It’s time for the Parliament to act.

Like most Australians, I’ve lost patience after watching rolling scandals and nothing coming of it – except diminishing trust in politicians when we most need it. So I'm glad my AFIC Bill has lit a fire under the Government. It's time to #BringOnDebate

Proud to stand alongside my crossbench colleagues today to support the Climate Change Bill. This is about conserving all that we love about the regions - our farming, our alpine villages, our tourism industry. As a proud regional Australian, I am proud to second this bill today.

Two-thirds of Australians see corruption as a big problem -and people increasingly think the government is handling it badly. A robust Federal Integrity Commission alone won't fix everything. But without one, we will never restore trust in our politics.
