Huge congratulations and good luck to Lewis Orford from last year's Year 11 who is in the first team squad for tonight's
@WestHam
Europa Conference match vs FCSB. Go Lewis!
Our
@HallMeadScience
dept have answered the call and are sending all our new goggles and existing lab stock to Queen's Hospital to support the staff with their protection equipment needs.
This is Lucy Merritt. Lucy is an ex-Hall Mead student and just 18 years old. She is working on the front-line fighting Covid-19 and we applaud her for it.

Our wonderful Art dept have worked with students to produce this piece as part of our WW 1 Centenary commemoration. Each poppy carries a message of thanks to an actual soldier who died.
We are delighted to announce, following an Ofsted Inspection in September, we have retained our ‘OUTSTANDING’ judgment ⭐️ To read the full report, please visit:

Today we finally were able to mark the official opening of our wonderful new building and celebrate the outstanding contribution of former trustees and governors. Thanks to former HT Alan Wunderly for being our Guest of Honour.
Couldn’t be more proud of a special group of boys for winning Hall Mead’s first ever Essex Cup football title. 26 yrs in the making for me but it was worth the wait. I’ll never forget the journey we have been on. Mr Swan
A MASSIVE thank you to
@waitrose
in Upminster for their kind donation of chocolate Easter bunnies to the staff and pupils working through the holidays in-school.

Thank you all for helping get us through this most challenging of weeks. We will stay in touch, we will keep your minds active, we will make sure you always feel part of the school and we will look after you if you and when you need us. Stay safe.
Details of arrangements for tomorrow will go out on email via Parent Mail early this afternoon. We will be opening as normal, bringing our Hall Mead family together in collective support.
Despite all the challenges we have faced together, we should be proud of how the
@hallmead
community came together to overcome them in 2020. Here's wishing you all a happy and healthy 2021.
Congratulations to Year 11 student Arbi Maka on securing an Eton College sixth form scholarship following a rigorous selection process. We're so proud of you Arbi.
Well done students, teachers, support staff and parents! We made it over the line. Great attendance, great effort and engagement and great lessons. Thank you all. Monday, we go again!
Reward Trip: We have safely arrived at PGL Little Canada! Just unloading coaches now, then straight to dinner! Kids have been great so far 👍🏻 - Mr Lewis
Dear
@hallmead
community, following tonight's announcement, we are with you and ready to go again. In school provision and remote learning will happen tomorrow as planned. Information re exams etc will be communicated once clarified. Attendance in online lessons is vital please.
With a new PB of 4:06.94 & breaking the Essex Schools Championship best time by 2 seconds 👊🏻(held for 40 years since 1983)! Well done Freddie!!! We’re proud of you!
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
First full day with ALL students. We have had to contend with navigating the new building, LFD testing Years 11 and 7 for their second test AND wet lunch. No sweat! Students have been impeccable and staff have been adaptable as ever. Well done everyone.
Incredible achievement for the yr 11 football team winning their 4th (yes 4th) Havering Cup in a row. Goals from Imray and a last minute winner from Phoi-Onta saw us past a strong Emerson Park. We play them again next Monday 20th in the Essex Cup Final 6pm at Dag and Red FC.
Good luck to all our Year 11 students picking up their GCSE results tomorrow. Results available from main hall from 9.00 a.m. Enter via main gate and student entrance.
Today's update has gone out on Parent Mail. Great to see the children back today and to have the school back up and running. Everyone has been amazing.
Once we get clarification from the DfE on the precise details of this evening's school closure announcement we will get emails out to parents as early as possible tomorrow on Parent Mail. Our staff, parents and pupils have been wonderful during this time.

The end of an era, the Great Hall is no more. Many excellent memories but this space will become landscaped recreation space and 3 multi use games pitches.
Staff have had 2 really good days of training and preparation yesterday and today. We're looking forward to welcoming students on Monday. Year 7 first, then everyone else at 11.00.
Once we have full details on the Secretary of State's statement regarding changes to schools' return, we will update you. We intend to send an overview tomorrow and more fulsome detail on Monday.
Well done to all students today on getting on board with the 'new normal' so quickly and calmly. We have a great school community here and the mutual support and understanding have been exceptional so far.
Over 1,200 lateral flow tests, a new building, revised COVID protocols to learn and plenty of physical teaching and learning. What a week! Amazing adaptability and positive behaviour from the students and great effort from the staff. Well done everyone.
A busy day unpacking, but the new building is amazing. In school and remote provision ready for tomorrow. Mass testing planning underway. Update coming tomorrow.
Big thanks to the brilliant teachers, staff

WEEK ONE: DONE! Great job everybody. Fantastic to bring the school back to life. Systems have worked well, but we will keep reviewing and tweaking. Thanks for the ongoing support.
To all our students, parents and staff. Thank you for helping us make it over the line. We wish all of you a safe and happy summer and look forward to seeing you fit and ready to go in September.
Well done to all our Year 11s on their results today. We are thrilled with how well they have done. Great to see how many achieved the English and maths 'basics' measure and how the number of Grade 9s continue to rise. Best wishes to them for the future.

As well as observing the 2 minute silence, a small service was undertaken today by some staff, in which we also took time to remember our dear colleague Elaine Evans who sadly passed away 2 years today.
