Not sure why people have this idea that MCKK is sekolah anak-anak orang kaya. Alumni quota pun at most 10, out of 120ish students in one batch. Most of the students are from working class background. Many are actually poor and on financial aid.

I have some friends who are 3rd culture kids or even stayed abroad for most of their life since childhood until 30s - they could speak fluent Malay still. never used that excuse not to be able to speak Malay

my 4th sister stays in the US as well from 19 until 34 (15 years) - she could speak Malay even with a bit of rempit if she wants. so if you have been abroad for a shorter period; it’s expected you should know Malay fluently.
