I would posit that saying "commissions has always been negotiable" is such a huge self-own we in organized real estate from NAR leadership down to real estate agents need to stop saying this the the public now.
Genius hack if you forgot someone’s name. Just walk up and say “I’m sorry I forgot your name” and when they provide it you say, “sorry I meant your last name.”

Here’s what I’m saying “commissions have always been negotiable” = “you should’ve read the small print”. Just stop saying it. The best you can get is a look of confusion, the worst is a massive eye roll.

You know, whatever else you think of Kamala Harris, it’s pretty amazing and awesome that immigrants can come to the U.S., meet, marry, have a child, and their daughter can grow up to be DA, state attorney general, U.S. Senator, and on a presidential ticket.
The issue is churn. The sad truth is a vast majority of agents aren't around when the next opportunity arises. It's a commission-only sales job. The struggle is real.
According to NAR, 89% of buyers would use their agent again or recommend to others. 50% of buyers used an agent that was referred to them or that they had worked with in the past. My terrible math says about 2 out of 5 buyers talk a good game but don't follow through.
So the world is on the brink of war, we don’t have a speaker of the house, 17% of the GDP (real estate) is hanging on the balance on the decision of 6 non-homeowners, and “Slime You Out” by Drake featuring SZA just hit the Billboards Top Ten? Am I getting this right? WTAF?
