Hard to understand the hate Shanahan is getting after the Super Bowl
There were 7 fumbles in this game and KC recovered 6 (six!) of them
Sometimes it just doesn’t break your way…
Toss in a missed XP, a shot to close out the game on 3rd and short, a shot to end the game on 4th and 1, etc etc
These games come down to the narrowest of margins
Being a play away from a SB win is about all a coach can do
He’s one of the best in the league
@littlewaxlion
49ers 2x and lost 2
KC fumbled 5x and lost 1
Combined, 7 fumbles, 6 recovered by KC
Now, some of those fumbles you’d expect KC to recover more than 50% of the time (like the bad pitch), but still staggeringly unlucky
@greerreNFL
totally fair. Main criticism I have is he kept using compressed sets to do their gun passing, which plays right into spags hands as an insane blitz guy. Bet there's a lot less free runners at the qb if they spread things out and make you declare who is rushing, or come from depth
@greerreNFL
Not happy with his second half of play calling. He has a history of abandoning what is working like the run game. Seems to overthink things in the big moment. I’m not advocating for him to be fired btw.
@greerreNFL
Shanahan should have done a better job motivating his players to recover fumbles and also told Dre Greenlaw to jog out onto the field. Fireable offenses tbh

@PFF_George
Niner fans that say bad things about him just want to hate. We’re tired of coming up short but we also wouldn’t trade him for anyone in the league
@greerreNFL
Their RG Feliciano was injured early. After this happened they had trouble running. 49ers had a lot of unfortunate circumstances this game. Greenlaw injury being huge for KC.
