Year 11 student George Jones is taking part in a BBC TV's "The Greatest Dancer" alongside dancers from the Dark Angels Hip Hop crew in Bristol. Their audition airs this Saturday at 6:30. If they qualify the group will make it to the live shows ... Good Luck George and crew

Well Done to all our Year 11 students today. Over 80% of all GCSE grades were at Grade 4 or above. Good luck to everyone with their next steps and we look forward to welcoming some of you back in September.
Well done to all our A level students on a tremendous set of results for 2019. Three quarters of our students achieved a C grade or above. The overall pass rate was 99%, with fourteen students achieving 3 A grades or better. Fantastic effort everyone.

Some heartwarming feedback from members of the public today, who found small gifts and positive notes around the community due to our fantastic Gordano students taking on our Screen Break Day Kindness Challenge. Well done to everyone who took part!
Last week was tough, but we got through it - the whole community, by working together. Week two! Keep safe and keep well. Students - balance your work with being active, creative and having quiet time. Parents/carers - keep an eye on our letters home for tips on wellbeing.
Gordano will be open as usual for all Year 7-10 and Year 12 students on Thursday. We are making alternative arrangements for Year 11 and 13 students and will clarify in our letter to parents that will be shared this evening. Thank you for your patience.

Today was our fantastic but bittersweet Year 13 Leavers Day! Our Year 13s headed to Somerset Hall for quizzes, pizza, donuts & baby photos, with special speeches from Mrs Ramsay, Ms Fairs and Ms Blundell. Best of luck to the Year 13 students in their exams and for their futures!

Due to the ongoing poor weather forecast, which will deem the school site unsafe, we have taken the decision to close the school tomorrow, Friday, 2nd March 2018. The school will be open as normal on Monday. Please take care in the snow.
To mark the Centenary Armistice, Gordano Year 7 pupils have made an art installation of 135 clay poppies. Each poppy represents the soldiers and civilians associated with Portishead and the surrounding area who died as a result of the first world war conflict.

With significant snowfall predicted for the region, especially from tomorrow afternoon, the school will close at 1.15pm to allow students and staff to travel home safely. School buses will leave at 1.25pm. Thank you for your support and co-operation.
