A Smiling Khatun in Real Life The character Smiling Khatun is largely inspired by the picture of the Uyghur lady here, as well as my HWS drawings on the same subject. Smiling Khatun belongs to the Gokalpbägs, an Uyghur clan whose origin dates back to the old Uyghur Khaganate🙂
