Interesting from Boris Kubla, Croatian 🇭🇷 FA coach education ⚽️: ❌ volunteers, all coaches paid even at grassroots, 💶 city budgets go directly to clubs to help sustain them, 💶clubs also get money directly from regional associations who get money when players go abroad 🏅

@finnegan_laura Where does the $ come from to pay grassroots coaches? The FA or player fees ?

@fc_maryland From the sources mentioned above primarily, also clubs seek sponsorship for added help. I’m not sure of the % that comes from player fees.

@finnegan_laura That would mean money from local councils. Can't see that happening. Gaa more likely to get anything there I would have thought. More powerful. Fai should be doing more canvassing though.

@finnegan_laura @coachingbadges Second time in a fortnight I’ve heard of a small nation excelling at international level with professional grassroots coaches. As a former club chairman, I’ve lost count of the number of coaches who used volunteerism as an excuse for mediocrity.
