Kalpak🇹🇷/καλπάκι🇬🇷/калпак🇧🇬🇷🇸 is a high-crowned cap.
The kalpak is from Turkic origin and was introduced in the Balkans by wether Seldjuks, Bulgars, Pechenegs or Cumans.
It is traditionally mainly worn by Turks and Bulgarians but also became popular among Serbs and Greeks.
Video shows the language that was spoken in the Bulgarian Empire until the 9th century. Then Bulgarians gradually switched to Slavic.
Although Volga Bulgarian contained more Arabic words than Danube Bulgarian because the Volga Bulgars converted to Islam, the basis was the same.
