Corey Perry was with the Habs last year. Beginning on May 20, Perry played all 22 playoff games. Then he played a full 82 game season with Tampa and has now played 6 more playoff games. He has played 110 NHL games in less than one calendar year. He turns 37 on Monday.

Not linking out of respect for opponents, but a Devils fan elsewhere explained game 3 vs game 4 by saying game 3 was the Devils passing through the eye of the hurricane & game 4 was hitting the eye wall on the other side. As a hockey fan and weather nerd I respect the analogy.

Two things can be valid and true: 1. Pyotr Kochetkov's many fans can be sad, hurt, and upset about him returning to Chicago, and 2. It is better for Kochetkov to get AHL playing time and development than to be 3rd goalie with 38 games left, which limits usage.

I'm not usually a blame the refs/conspiracy sort of person, but when one team gets 6 power plays while the other gets 2 and calls are blatantly missed for the team with fewer, it's hard not to think that this is all about trying to get Ovi one more playoff run.

@glovehanded That's it, exactly. And on top of that the team seems to be deliberately marketing him to satisfy the "blood lust" element among the older fans who think hockey has gone too soft, and who cheer like crazy when this kid is on the ice because they're hoping for fisticuffs.

Before the Habs' 2021 season began, Jesperi Kotkaniemi played 10 pro hockey games in Finland with the Pori Aces. He played all 56 regular season games & 19 of the 22 postseason games. His total, 85 pro hockey games played this season, is the most of anyone on the Habs' roster.
