India becomes the first country to ever receive more than $100bn from its overseas migrant population, according to new World Bank figures. This represents a 12% increase on last year and ~$1 of every $6 remitted globally. Equivalent to 3% of India's GDP.

A short tweet 🧵 Interesting data out today from the World bank. India's migrant workers will send 100 billion dollars back home in 2022. See:

@edanderson101 translation: this explodes, yet again, the #keralamodel hoax that #senrothschild propagated. keralamodel == #moneyordereconomy , ie one sustained entirely by remittances, and thus highly vulnerable to say, oil shocks.

@edanderson101 But in simple terms, high unemployment in India, and large dependence of this kind of income only bring big uncertainties, cuz of the strong interlinking of India and rest of the world.

@edanderson101 But, Indian Union Government fails to cater their needs & problems they used to face. Hell, if their respective countries of earning & residence become nasty as BJP's forget remittance even their income might stop.
