Today is 5 months ALCOHOL FREE! I've come a long way. I'm so grateful for the support of my friends & family. Addiction is real, consuming, & I'm grateful to be free. I don't regret the people/places/things I had to leave behind to get here, I would do it all over again.

Aw man, I missed the date. Yesterday was my 4 month mark in my sober journey. 4 months ago I couldn't remember the last time I was sober. I was either drinking, or thinking about drinking. I even hid whiskey bottles in my purse. I can't believe I made it this far. GO ME!

(CW: weight) I have been trying to practice portion control when eating. (Let's face it, the portions normally served are outrageous.) I gained a lot of weight in active addiction to booze. I've increased activity, decreased consumption, and successfully lost nearly 40 lbs.

Got my final grades in. 96.05% for Legal Research & Writing I. 93.6% for Social Problems. All in all, 4 A's this semester. Looking forward to Legal Research & Writing II, and Litigation/Civil Procedures to start off the next semester.

Fun facts about the husband & I: Together 7 years. Married 5. We share a birthday. We got married on our birthday, 2 days before Valentine's Day. He took on my son at 2 as his own. He also deserves an award for tolerating me. 😅

I got a 90.5% on the 200 point essay I wrote (181/200) for Social Problems. Not my best work, but still an A. Overall grade for class 92.41% with 4 more weeks of grading to go. I think I've got it in the bag. Legal Research & Writing is at 93.57%.

I'm having to jump through hoops to take a leave of absence from work until I recover. It's terrible having to do it *while* sick, and I still have a packet of paperwork to fill out. I am grateful for my sick time & WA paid leave, tho. This could have been so much worse.

My husband found 2 of my ADHD pills on top of the fridge this morning. I've been out for 3 wks thanks to a pharmacy screw-up. I've felt human all day thanks to his find, but I have to laugh because taking them from the bottle, to set on top of another is such an ADHD thing to do.

I just spent 20 minutes with the sheriff regarding my situation online. I will be going to the courthouse Monday morning to begin the process for protection. It's going to be expensive AF because the person lives out of state, but worth it.

This year I've learned: I can read the most graphic, disturbing books ever. I'll cheer them on, "yeah! chop 'em up!" or "Now kill the other guy!" But I cannot, will not EVER read a book about a pet dying. That's my hard limit.
