The leader of the Opposition, who supported a terrorist organisation that murdered judges, talks about respect for the rule of law.
It should have been respected during the Troubles in Northern Ireland as well.
"We will be voting against the Withdrawal Agreement because our concerns remain
We will continue to do what we can to get the best deal for Northern Ireland."

is NI's first candidate in the European Election.
Register a message with London & Bussels that we must leave the European Union, and leave as one nation.
Ian Paisley MP says it's a "disgrace" that some Members of Parliament are using Northern Ireland as a "pawn to thinly veil attacks on the Government," and that it is the EU, not the UK, that is in breach of its international obligations.

The December Joint Report agreed that NI would have the final say on any divergence from the UK Single Market. Did the PM push the delete button?

We want a deal, but taking no deal off the table is exactly what will ensure that the EU holds out and gives absolutely nothing in any future negotiations.
At 0811 a graphic was used by

North Antrim MP Ian Paisley emailed the Director General & demanded an immediate apology.
The apology (below) at 0858 is welcome but disgraceful that it had to be highlighted.

NI to GB trade is worth £14bn/yr. NI to EU trade is worth £4.8bn.
This deal will adversely affect the most important trade to Northern Ireland.
✅ We want to take back control of our borders, our laws and our money.
✅ We want Northern Ireland to leave the EU with the rest of the United Kingdom.
✅ Send a message to London and Brussels on 23rd May by voting DODDS 1.
@DianeDoddsMEP
If the Prime Minister's deal remains the same then the problem remains the same.
The backstop is the problem - it divides the United Kingdom.
Defend the Union, Deliver Brexit.

has challenged the Government's attempt to stifle debate on the NI Protocol by removing members from the Committee if they were likely to be too critical and ask too many questions about the legislation.
DUP MPs today have been clear that we would restore the Assembly & Executive immediately and without precondition.
Only one party is putting their political prejudices in the way of progress in NI.
We are not going to apologise for delivering an extra £1billion for the people of NI because of our C&S agreement.

asks the Prime Minister to explain, “how Northern Ireland can remain a full part of the United Kingdom if people coming from the rest of the UK into Northern Ireland have to pass through a border control post?”.
Congratulations to

who was introduced into the House of Lords today, with his full title, Lord Dodds of Duncairn. We're very pleased for him!
"We want to see Stormont up and running on solid foundations. That must mean respect for Northern Ireland's place within the United Kingdom and our ability to trade with the rest of our own country.
That's all we're asking for."

We are focused on delivering extra funding for our hosptials, schools, police and working with the Government to get a good deal as we leave the European Union. We will not support efforts in Parliament that would take away the Government's negotiating leverage.

responding to the Prime Minister's speech today.
"The PM will have a job persuading unionists that a backstop in an international binding treaty can be somehow mitigated through domestic legislation."
The ongoing application fo EU law... inhibiting our ability to trade with the rest of the United Kingdom - that's what we need the Government to address and resolve.
@J_Donaldson_MP
Party somersaults on the election of a Speaker:
In 2019:
Alliance Party - didnt turn up to "pointless talking shop"
Sinn Fein - didn't turn up and blocked appointment.
SDLP - said a Speaker without Executive "undermined the Good Friday Agreement"
.
@NigelDoddsDUP
- the Chancellor has rightly said that the backstop is bad for the Union, bad for the economy. Which parts does the Prime Minister see are bad for the Union?
.
@DianeDoddsMEP
- Mr Tusk wants to "facilitate UK ratification without re-opening the deal", Mr Juncker is ready to "offer clarifications". To believe this will succeed in the House of Commons is indeed magical thinking.

- The legal advice makes it clear:
❌ NI remains in the EU Customs Union and Commission & ECJ continue to have jurisdiction over compliance.
❌ NI would treat Great Britain as a 'third country'.
❓How can he possibly recommend this deal?
“Sinn Fein may have a list of demands about the Irish language which they need to satisfy a section of their support base but I have a growing list of demands from all over the country from people who want to see progress in their schools, roads and hospitals.”

The EU are still prepared to create a hard border for vaccines to help people get through a pandemic.
It's quite clear that the idea the NI Protocol is necessary to avoid a hard border is exposed as a monumental falsehood.

@DianeForsytheNI
has called on the Secretary of State to explain why he can give a blank cheque for Casement Park but is telling NI taxpayers they need to fork out more on taxes to pay for core services like schools, hospitals and childcare.
The Secretary of State’s rhetoric for the QUB audience was more akin to a speech by a clueless Irish American congressman rather than a UK Government Cabinet Minister."

@NigelDoddsDUP
"People are frustrated that in a no deal there will be no hard border, but there is insistence upon a backstop which could bring about the conditions they say they wish to avoid."
Whilst they can delete statements from their websites and try to expunge the record, the facts remain, they mocked our calls for change, ignored the problems and instead called for a bad deal to be made, in effect, a worse one.
Gregory Campbell MP
Whilst representing real progress the “brake” does not deal with the fundamental issue which is the imposition of EU law by the Protocol.

to the Prime Minister. "Unlike the previous political declarations, the scope for delay, fudge or obscurantist language has passed. This is now a time for clarity and plain speaking."
Sinn Fein may want to keep a foot in the past whilst telling innocent victims to keep their “eyes towards the future” but if republicans are going to eulogise psychopathic killers then they can expect to be held to account.
The restoration of devolved government is only made sustainable when the Protocol is replaced by arrangements that restore Northern Ireland’s constitutional and economic place within the United Kingdom

"The Prime Minister has promised to get legally binding changes. The reaction by the EU is unsurprising. They are doing what they always do. The key question is whether the PM will stand up to them or whether she will roll over as has happened previously.
