They’re maintained by the Severnside Sirens Trust and are operated via radio signal from a control system at Avon and Somerset Police Headquarters in Portishead.
The sirens are tested at 3pm on the 3rd of every month (except the time that there was an emergency going on which didn’t warrant use of the sirens, but might have done )
So; the test is two times around of the warning cycle, a 30 second or so gap, then the all-clear noise.
