/ Today marks 20 yrs working @ Valve. I never thought I would work anywhere that long, let alone my first real job. They took a chance on a no experience kid out of college with no resume and a portfolio thrown in a folder on a server somewhere. It changed the course of my life.
/ At the time, I thought I'd stick around for a couple projects and then move onto "bigger things". Little did I know this company would provide me with so much of what I needed, not just for my career, but for personal growth.
/ A place to learn from some very smart people around me, somewhere to expand my interests beyond art and into many different aspects of product design, and a constant flow of (good) challenges that made it so on Sunday nights, I'd be excited for the full week of work ahead.
/ It is not lost on me how incredibly blessed and lucky I am to work here. I love what I do, and I'd probably be doing it if they weren't paying me.
But don't tell them that.
