2024 Student of the Year Award. This is a NATIONAL award. He recently got married, and now this...please help me congratulate him...and retweet at anesthesia residency program directors!
When a school charges nearly $60,000 per year in tuition and needs to establish a food pantry for medical students to survive, perhaps itโs time to closely examine how medical schools exploit students who are willing to do anything to pursue their dreams of becoming doctors.

The me seven years ago would never believe where I would be today. The journey hasnโt been easy, but so excited to see where Iโll be in another seven years.
I unfortunately did not get the news I wanted today. If anyone can give advice it would be greatly appreciated. Congrats on everyone that matched anesthesiology!
Made my dream step 2 score, finished an amazing sub-I, and finished it off proposing to the love of my life. Iโd say this is the best week of my life.
I want to thank everyone that reached out and supported me this week, especially my mentor
@ewhitakermd
. Thankfully I have accepted a preliminary surgery position at Johns Hopkins and hope to work hard and improve to apply for Anesthesiology again next year.

My fiancรฉ is going to be an asset to any EM residency program. The most EM minded person I know and the only person who drinks more energy drinks than me.
Iโm Alex and I am

I completed a clinical simulation fellowship at ACOM and am interested in sports medicine, POCUS, MedEd.
I enjoy craft beer, OCRs, and softball!
I will be couples matching with my fiancรฉ
@dgcoopz
Look forward to meeting everyone!
I hate to admit it, but while on my most recent sub-I I downloaded a sudoku app and have found my new passion. I am slowly becoming the Anesthesiologist stereotype. I may start day trading soon. Stay tuned.
Once again. I am always so proud and inspired by you. Iโm so thankful I have
@A_Sapp12
to go through this bump in our life plans together. We will come out stronger as physicians and human beings.
@residencyreview
Terrible advice. You are not competing against anyone and to view it that way is ridiculous. If a program likes you and ranks you highly you will match there. You could tell every single person applying that specialty and it would have no effect of you matching at that program.
@ClementLeeMD
Knowing insurance companies the child will after to have failed 2 previous treatments that include holy water and trying a ouija board before covering any in clinic exorcism.
But canโt forget the most important person thatโs always in my corner
@A_Sapp12
. Iโm so proud of you and canโt wait to see the EM doc youโll become.
Today marked the end of my final away rotation. Since starting this journey in July, I've had the privilege of rotating through various institutions and meeting fantastic anesthesiology residents and faculty. Match day canโt get here fast enough!
Speak your dreams into existence. In six months, the title on this scrub cap will become a reality. I'm excited for the next steps in this journey, ready to grow and learn.

@FutureAnesRes
Iโve really enjoyed rotating through so many amazing institutions, but what I wouldnโt give to be back in my own bed. February canโt come fast enough.
It has been an honor to have been a member of the
@FutureAnesRes
team over the past year, marking one of the most enriching experiences of my medical school journey. I cannot wait to see the remarkable accomplishments that this exceptional group of medical students will achieve.
We would like to introduce the NEW 2025 TEAM!! Congratulations and we are so excited to see what you do with
@FutureAnesRes
this year! ๐๐๐๐
The
@FutureAnesRes
team has been dedicated to an important project. Mentorship holds a special place in my heart; I owe much of my success to my mentors. I, along with many team members, will be signing up as mentors.
We are officially rolling out a formal mentorship program! Look in the comments for more information!
We hope to have the pairings in the next 2-3 weeks. Keep an eye on your inbox after submitting!
Question for medical students/physicians. What is one thing you always made time for in medical school no matter how busy? No the answer cannot be studying.
Now thatโs itโs
#Match2024
season, Iโm looking for an anesthesiology mentor! It would be great to have guidance along the way.

Excited to head to
#ANES23
for the last time as a medical student. Canโt wait to connect with everyone and explore San Fran for the first time.
Also stop by the
@FutureAnesRes
booth during the med student meet and greet would love to meet everyone.
Second week of my first anesthesiology sub-I and you know itโs the specialty for you when youโre waking up at 4am every morning excited to get to the hospital.
Canโt wait for interviewers to ask me about a hard experience in my life and I have to explain that the toughest moment in my life was today when I read Saban is retiring. I am not okay.
The best part so far with this first sub-I is the interaction with residents. So many different personalities and perspectives, but each eager to impart knowledge. This is what makes medicine so enjoyable.
This is a must-attend if you are applying to Anesthesiology this cycle. Questions pertaining to all things ERAS will be answered during this panel. The
@FutureAnesRes
has worked hard to set up this event and it should be very informative. Hope to see everyone there!
๐ขThis event is for all MATCH 2024 applicants that are applying to Anesthesiology ๐ข
Please join us for this upcoming talk that has PDs and APDs from 3 different residency programs. Topics include ERAS and recent changes for the upcoming cycle. We hope to see you there!
Just wanted to repost this. Weโve had a great number of mentee applicants, but would still love to have more mentors. Please consider helping the next future faces of the field.

Excited to have represented my school and the United States in the international virtual patient challenge. Happy to have finished my SIM experience with a first place.
Planning to apply in Anesthesiology? Do you advise students who are applying? Check out my conversation with
@trpender
! We discuss how to set yourself up for success, how to determine how competitive you are and more.

Important things that
@A_Sapp12
looked at in programs besides training quality. Cost of living, location, large airports, closeness to family, etc. Things I looked atโฆ.the coolest gyms in the area.
I attempted my first A-line today and was unable to get the artery. As a medical student, I find that we are too consumed with failing, but my attitude toward each โfailureโ is another opportunity to improve my skills. Failure and growth are a part of medicine.
What a pleasure getting to be a representative for my medical school at the ASA medical student component. The future is in solid hands and I canโt wait to have these people as future colleagues.

Whenever someone learns that I played tennis in college, their immediate follow-up question is, "Do you play pickleball?" Perhaps it's time for me to try out paddle sports instead of getting shown up by 10-year-olds at golf.
Hello
#MedTwitter
my name is David Cooper. I am an OMS-III at ACOM. I am interested in Anesthesiology. I look forward to connecting with you all.

Wanted to start a debate on what sport best translates to a career in medicine and explain why. I have to go with tennis. High-pressure environment, lack of subs or timeouts, and having to overcome challenges when things go wrong through brainstorming and adapting.
What an incredible experience at ACOEP. I am so honored to have been selected as the student of the year and to join the
@ACOEPRSO
board as conference co-chair. Thank you to everyone and I cannot wait to begin planning future events!

Finally, trying to enjoy the outdoors now that I'm not stuck inside studying and, of course, there's a heat warning in Alabama. I am way too pale for this.
