public health measures is not about TORTURE as happening on Thika Road but about National DIALOGUE and community ENGAGEMENT on protecting lives
#ThikaRoad
Started with 1 case, then 960 a day! My message - don’t worry about cases as they will continue to rise (it’s the curve!); worry about our capacity to save lives of those who get severe disease because of various risks - worry about your local health facility & local health worker
I disagree. 1. Negative COVID19 tests are as useful as the date the sample was taken. After that, they are JUNK! 2. With 300k teachers, the cost would be ~KShs 1B which would best be put into water & sanitation in schools & hiring extra teachers so high risk ones can stay home.

It’s a fashion accessory that won’t protect you from aerosols that may carry the viruses that cause COVID19 not will it stop you from infecting others!
So buy it purely as a fashion accessory BUT wear a mask and get vaccinated 😷👍🏽

- You might find none, one or several useful. Here is Lesson One - 49 to go!
At 50 years of age, my metabolic age is 35 years - I eat regular very often unprocessed foods, I walk an average of 6km a day (9000 steps), I laugh and I love 💕 - try it, consistently and patiently. Let’s talk about health not illness 🏥

On parenting, don’t focus on wealth to bequeath your children. Rather, focus on character and resilience (school and life education); it’s the gift that keeps on giving.
This is the gift my parents bequeathed me (us).

Always ask - what will be better because I was here?
#50years50lessons
Close to 25% of ALL ICU Beds in Kenya are occupied by

patients. I am urging each one of us to play their part in flattening the curve - Mask 😷, Chose not to go to a social gathering, Wash hands 🙌🏾 with soap, Accept vaccine 💉 when it’s your turn. Every life counts 🙏🏾
Do not heed to those who want to profiteer from your fear & anxiety - do not! Seek advice & support from official hotline 719 or *719# & from your healthcare facility/provider. The Govt is providing tests for free for those who need them & is expanding testing

COVID19 alert 🚨
Personal experience from close friend whose mother died yesterday unvaccinated 😢
1. Overcome fear of vaccination because of fear of side effects - COVID is far much worse
2. Watch unusual fatigue/‘laziness’ - could indicate low oxygen from COVID infection
No need for masks 😷 on travel but wash hands with soap regularly, carry a 60%-plus alcohol hand sanitiser. A few wipes will help sanitise surfaces you will touch regularly, avoid handshakes. Don’t panic, be calm.

Let’s save the masks for health workers!
It’s taken me 3,266,600 steps, 2,292km to ‘walk into’ 2024
That’s an average of 8,840 steps a day (160 steps short of my target of 9,000 steps per day) - great, not perfect.
6.2km walked per day for 365 days
This is the 3rd year in a row
I have bet on CONSISTENCY rather than
Stay alert people; don’t drop your guard. Nationally 11% of all deaths happened on the last 14 days. Yes the same period contributes only 5% of out total confirmed cases. Tells you there is a missing piece in tracing and testing - Nakuru has had 27 deaths from only 1043 cases!
