0 DAYS SINCE LAST ORV CRYING INCIDENT
HOW DID I GO THIS LONG WITHOUT NOTICING THAT THE ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE PRINTED ORV WEBTOON BY IZE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE ONLINE VERSION BY THE WEBTOON TEAM?
"I wanted him to be a reader rather than a lonely person.
As long as they can read something, humans won't be lonely.
I probably wanted to believe this."
man i typed that completely from memory lol... well... what can i say. still my favorite after all this time
for anyone who's curious about ORV and wondering who these characters are because of the recent live action casting news, i made a little sparknotes guide for all of the ORV characters who've been announced so far for the live action! ^_^ (1/2)
JISOO FROM INTERNATIONAL SENSATION KPOP GIRL GROUP BLACKPINK AS JIHYE LMFAOOOOO this is exactly what lee jihye would have wanted for herself. god bless
BLACKPINK's JISOO, Lee Min-ho, Ahn Hyo-seop and Nana are reportedly confirmed for the new movie 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' cast.
Filming will start in December.
90% of the problems with orv webtoon just come from how it presents kdj's pov as if he's always right and his interpretation of events is always reliable. the
#1
yjh mischaracterizer is kdj
now that ive accidentally started going "what would yjh do" unironically ive come to realize that yjh is a very bad role model to follow in situations that require being socially proactive. no wonder kdj's like this. if ysa had been the protag of wos kdj would own a house by now
everyone should read the orv novel because that kim dokja guy gets a sweet coat and awesome wings later on. very cool. he also has a sword (very cool) and the sword has a magic aura sometimes (also very cool). the swords all have names. theres also a lot of dragons in this book.
kdj: doesnt have a drivers license because he cant afford a car
hsy: doesnt have a drivers license because she has a chauffeur
yjh: doesnt have a drivers license because he doesnt have an identity on record with the government
webtoon style is REALLY annoying to draw
anyways this is bs because i dont always draw kdj like this ive just been having fun drawing him like a freak recently
orv divorce arc is special because most of the time when theres a conflict the story ends witj mutual understanding and reconciliation but both kdj and yjh learn absolutely nothing and resolve the conflict by going i cant stay mad at u babe xoxo
imo it does orv itself a disservice if ur mean abt other kinds of fans cause like... we've got em all in here already. powerscaler dudebros? kim dokja. people who just dont get it? lee hyunsung. weirdos? sp. fujoshis? uriel literally inherits the title of the Oldest Good
i cant believe that KIM DOKJA WITH AN ANIME SWORD versus THE ABSTRACT CONCEPT OF NARRATIVE CONTEXT is a literal description of a real fight that happens in orv
the first time they met they took one look at each other and instantly Knew the worst things about each other
to be known like that is like violence, but also like liberation
orv fans are so funny i will tweet "orv is good" for my audience of 12 people and suddenly like 100 orv fans will pop out of nowhere to like the post. how did you get here
the "mia" ebook side story is so funny like
yjh's nonstop internal monologue: human beings are creatures that eat, consume energy, and sleep. cogs in the soulless machinery of the universe. the nature of existence is pain
random taxi driver: whoa dude, you're like, really hot
nowadays whenever i fuck something up in an extremely avoidable and cringey way the thought "kim dokja would have done this" occurs to me immediately afterwards and then i fall to my knees in despair
no new suit is one thing but i also dont like how they cut the explanation for why yjh got upset at sys being dokkaebi'd like damn webtoon hates it sooooo bad when yjh expresses care 4 other people
i changed my mind i cant make yjh too pretty because if i draw him like that in the same pic as kdj and hsy it looks insane. he looks like a gothic hero who accidentally got isekaid into trash anime
ok what ORV is about is the "distance" between fiction and reality and the function that distance serves in allowing people to project on, empathize with, learn from, cope using fiction. it acknowledges how fiction is a form of escapism without minimizing its meaning or influence
whenever i read stuff about a mc getting isekaied into a shitty story nowadays i have this kneejerk response of Tch... u dont even love this story.... what fuckless cynicism. u will never be kim dokja. this is very unfair of me though
i like the orv live action casting so far. kdj's actor is cute. the fact that yjh's actor is like catnip to women over the age of 40 is comedy gold to me
its fun to read people speculating on the person kdj loves most and the twsa author's identity and stuff in the webtoon comments cause once you know what orv, as a story, is about. in retrospect the answer suddenly gets really obvious
yjh on a tv cooking competition... he would make a boring standard dish. he would not describe what hes doing. the camera guy asks him to explain why he joined the show and he tells the guy "get out of my way". yjh still wins the competition. he is not invited for a second season
with kdj its like. ive never ugly cried so much over a fictional character but also when people say too many nice things about him i start feeling itchy
