1st time in race history (38yrs) the cook jumped on top of the wagon because he missed getting inside when the gun went off. Even more surprising he held on.
Wild hog came out of the brush & started attacking. Nephew got back in the tractor so hog went after the tires. No gun with him. Finally stabbed him with hay fork. Maybe some wild hogs don’t like certain brands of tractors?I mean I’ve seen ag twitter react then same way 😏😜
I knew this day was coming but it didn’t make it any easier today while visiting my mom. She got mad & told me to leave. I said I’m your daughter😢. She said NO you are not. That’s the first time. She’s very angry now which is hard to see. Alzheimer’s robs you of so much.
My parents passed away 5 months apart. Dad’s service is Saturday so we’ve been getting pics together. Look at my mom’s abs after her 4th child. Now I know why I have this rib protruding from my body 😜Sticks out just as far as hers does.
Your farm & ranch tells a story. While we teach our children & grandchildren all about life, the farming & ranching teaches them what life is all about.
Someone was pretty excited he had blood on his shirt like PawPaw

😁I went for my regular Covid test & the nurse asked me if I had a sudden loss of taste. I said No, I’ve been dressing this way ever since March when they shut everything down 🤷🏻♀️

🤣
Mom passed away one month ago today. Last night dad was admitted to the hospital with Covid, bilateral pneumonia & sepsis. Of course he had enough energy to tell me not to feel obligated to be here. He’s always been that way…doesn’t want to be an inconvenience to any of us.
Get started on those weights & cardio. You future self
will thank you. I’ve been a personal trainer & doing strength training since 1996. I’m 60+ I have flaws, but so what? I won’t let age dictate what I wear or do. There are lots of online trainers so hit one up. Not me though😁
I think we finally found info on our wrench after all these yrs. When the boys were little they found it exploring our pastures.

8 miles this morning. Nice and cloudy. Have a great Monday.
Remember, cluttering up your mind with things that don't matter, doesn't leave much room for the things that do.
I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who prayed for my dad. I wasn’t given very hopeful news on Friday morning & he is continuing to improve! Trying to get out of bed now. Before he needed all his energy to breathe. My heart has been helped by all of you. 🙏🏻

I am not a fast runner but today I had a PR!! The run was fun & my mind was occupied with the scenery. Key West had a cool front so between the sea air & temps it was magical. Also the first run/race in 2 yrs I ran pain free & nothing got tight. My new doc is👏🏻🙌🏻
A good friend cried with me many times when my son died. Always there for me.Tonight I cried with her. Next week her son goes to MD Anderson to see what stage his cancer is in. They can’t go in with him for any of this. Good friends make such a difference in your journey🙏🏻
Saw a kid I probably haven’t seen in 15 years reintroduce himself to me. He’s married & has 5 kids. All he could talk about is coming to my house when he was a freshman with friends & eating my ice cream. After bragging about it so much what could I do? Make enough for him & us😁
1:Today is the day I answered the phone & on the other end was the university telling me my son had passed away. There is no greater pain than losing a child & no longer ride home than after they’ve lowered your child into the ground.
So last night I couldn’t sleep. In fact I woke up at 2:30am. Got up took a few pics of some of our fancy black angus cattle. Let me know if you’re interested in purchasing any. The one on the left is spoken for.
9 years ago my cousin lost her 25 year old daughter Megan to acute myeloma leukemia. Today her youngest daughter is fighting for her life from the same thing. Brandi is 18. She is in the hospital already getting treatment. If you would please🙏🏻for her.
After telling a couple of my friends I had to take a temporary break from running because of life at the moment I got out & ran 6 miles. Felt so good ☀️🕶
Another round of weights. Did a little more with the legs today since I didn’t have bleachers on my list of wants. Stepped outside to run and it was raining (yay!) so maybe later. 🌧️ Great series of stretches also.
Life is good & I feel good 🙌🏻
Weights then 2 1/2 mile run. Couldn’t go any further with feel like temp of 5°. Which was an improvement over -4 this morning. Can’t feel my face or fingers 🥶🤪
Thanksgiving at my house today for my side of the family. The plus is we have finally received adequate amounts of rain on our oats & pastures the last 2 days 💕
Love having these 3 for the weekend & listening to them talk. All 3 pilots. One is training in an aerial refueling tanker, one a C-17 & my daughter pilots the Cessna. Had my grandkids during the day ❤️Heart is pretty full at the moment.
13.1 hill country miles on my 60th birthday. I loved it. A big ‘Thank you’ to all of you for your encouragement, well wishes & motivation. Hobbled the last 4 miles but got it done!

I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand. Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand 🎤🎶
Life is good today, life is good today
That runner’s tan 🤦🏻♀️😆

10 miles ✅ It was such a perfect temp the whole way. “Gratitude is an art of painting an adversity into a lovely picture”~Kak Sri
2 weeks until the Rock n Roll San Antonio. 💃🏻🪇🏃🏻♀️
All 13.1 miles of humidity and fun! Felt for the ones laying down being tended to by medical personnel. Happy with my time too. It’s showing 8th in my age group. 60-64. Not bad after not sleeping last night.

This afternoon in 2007 I hung up the phone…not knowing it would be the last time I would ever hear my sweet son's voice...what an amazing son I was blessed with. He was going to be a rancher and a surveyor. He lived life to the fullest & helped everyone he could in those 22 yrs
I love Brahmans. They are so majestic. They aren’t even our main cattle but we keep them by the house so we can look at them. They will go in a special sale soon. They had to watch me walk to the mailbox lol
2nd pic is a throwback
Last night my family & friends threw me a surprise birthday party. It’s next Saturday but I have a half marathon to run. I had so much fun. It’s still hard for me to believe I’m that old. The decor was beautiful. They did good! 💕I feel loved& blessed
Many moons I have lived
My body's weathered and worn….Toast each sundown with wine
Don't let the old man in
Wish time could be rolled back…way back to when Josh was still alive & dad was still young and strong.
Early morning weights then got out later and ran 4 miles at the park. Walking lunges up & down the steep dip. Have a great day!

9 mile run & one big smile on my face when I ran by & the grands were out in the front playing. Those “Nana!!” screams & running to meet me make my day. 1 was in unders, 1 in PJ’s & 1 was dressed 😂 Living in the country has its perks. They are living their best life lol
