Larry Hama Conversations. Such a great book. Hama has so many excellent insights and knee caps a lot of the nonsense mythologizing that surrounds making comics.
April 1993.
105,000 copies sold at $1.75. This was the number 86 best selling book at the time.
The biggest retail month in comic history spilled over to lots of comics. Followed by a crash of cataclysmic proportions.

Avengers is trending. Read Avengers Forever by
@KurtBusiek
Roger Stern and the great Carlos Pacheco. Folks who can't wait for Avengers 5 should read some killer comics instead.
Astro City 13. This is arguably one of the best comics I've read. Ever. A damning indictment of celebrity, greed, Hollywood and several really challenging existential questions. Told by a cartoon lion.
@KurtBusiek
thank you.
Again there is this knock on "quality". There are some sensational comics being created today that are just as good as anything that's been made. I don't get this critique; it smacks of people who aren't reading comics comics coming out today.
Daredevil 255. Romita Jr. and Williamson are gorgeous here (the inks on DD’s back on that second page are amazing). Rosen on letters, Scheele on colors and Nocenti on the story.
Mark Waid is trending. His run on Flash ignited my love of comics. Kingdom Come is one of the greatest comics ever written. World's Finest is a masterpiece. This guy has been killing it his entire career. Also, he's right.👇
Edit: cleaned up ss.
Superboy 60. Grummett is such a massive talent...these SB issues explode off the page. Setzer on colors, Comicraft on letters and I THINK Kesel on inks!
Thor 408 continued! I gasped when I saw this Mignola short! Huge and amazing surprise!!! Wiacek on inks, Wright and Vincent on colors and Heisler on letters.
Worlds Finest 305. Couldn’t resist posting this mid read. Absolutely incredible work from Von Eeden and Pablo Marcos. Amazing colors by Gafford and letters by Lappan. Slifer on edits and Kraft on story.
Brave and the Bold 182. This was a delight. Brennert crushed it on the script (looked him up, he’s a big deal TV writer), Aparo is amazing as always, as is Gafford. Giordano on edits.
FF 338. Savoring this one. Batshit story that crosses over with the Avengers and Death’s Head shows up?! Simonson with Klein on letters and Scheele on colors. Didn’t expect to see the TVA mentioned here either (didn’t know where that story existed in comics after seeing Loki).
DC Comics Presents 66. I could post literally every page from this issue. Gorgeous stuff with great panel to panel storytelling. Every page has something of interest…Joe Kubert was the best.
New Mutants 20. Sienkiewicz and Wein. This stuff is a revelation today, can’t imagine what it was like to get it on the stands. Orzechowski on letters and Claremont on story.
Legion of Super Heroes 4. Slowly putting this run together! Mon-El has a killer brawl with Time Trapper. I need to re-read ALL of this run to wrap my head around what’s going on but I liked it! Giffen delivers some great fights.

The Question 16. Man where has this book all my life?! The art is phenomenal (Cowan and Magyar) with colors by Tatjana Wood and letters by Wteve Haynie. Great dialogue and gritty/pulpy story by Denny O’Neil!!
