Except for the minor problem that they are correct. We cannot end the production of fossil fuels as they are not replaceable for use in pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, asphalt, rubber, carbon fiber, etc….
The statement is badly worded and should be corrected to reflect reality

are making the case that we need fossils to make the transition. This really bothers me. We have had fossils all along in increasing quantities and yet, no transition to date. How are they going to help?
