Also I updated :)
Designers making money by telling other designers how to make money? 🤔
It sounds just like self help books to become a millionaire.
Trust the work, not the words.
Hi friends, I'm excited to share the trailer of a project I'm working on.

Hi design friends, here is a small present for you just before the holidays, done with some friends at Opal.

Life update:
Last week I officially joined the Fluent Design team at

. Moving forward I'll be leading and helping craft the future of Microsoft Design Language.
Game on.
Biggest fear at an agency:
My work won't happen and it will end up lost and forgotten in a Dropbox folder in the client server.
Biggest fear at a product company:
My work won't happen bc an unexpected reorg will change the direction of the team, again.

Quick site update!🔥
I got a few requests to share some of the 3D work from my site so I added a new section 👉👉RESOURCES👈👈 with the C4D files for you to open and explore.
I'm a noob but I hope you find them useful. Will keep adding more as I go.
Brands and names are something you learn to like (paraphrasing Paul Rand).
However, 3 years later, I still think Slack lost its soul with their redesign. They had something really special and so powerful in their # , the colors, the S.
Today it looks like a soulless FAANG
Pinterest is the logo I'll miss the most from all these. Airbnb and Spotify transfered their personality to their mark. EBay made us all a favor and Google feels better imo.
Years ago design portfolios had work. Today there is no work to be found, only:

Alright, here is an idea, an Alarm app for dual screen phones where the back screen illuminates mimicking the sunrise to ease up into your day.
Stills attached, video below 👇. Thoughts?
The new site is full of details.
One of my favorites is how the C1 camera comes up when you first open the site.
We wanted to have a great intro AND end it with dynamic touch, not just a static shot.
So I'm going to start an experiment probably next week.
I got contacted by a company to help them redesign their homepage. I asked them if I could stream my work (live or post recaps) as I go of all the progress, ups and downs and... To my surprise they said YES!
Career update:
Today is my last day at
@hugeinc
😢
I can't even start to describe how much I've grown here and what an amazing experience this has been.
What's next?
🏝 1. Mandatory break with fam.
🍿 2. Join a passionate group of individuals working on a great product.
Back to my explorations with this Back to my explorations with this keyboard...
What if there was an accesible, multipurpose and intuitive touchscreen on a keyboard?
FWIW I think there was still juice left in the touchbar paradigm. IMO it was the placement and lack of
Regardless of your seniority and years of experience as a designer at some point, you will find yourself drawing yet another magnifying glass icon.
Embrace it 🔍
No.
I don't have a new site.
However, I have a new "this is not my new site" site and I'm excited to share it with you.
Also give me your email. I promise I'll send you only good spam 🙂
I'm not renewing my

This might be one of those cases of "It's not you, it's me". I can't put my finger on what it is that I don't get from the platform anymore but I just don't .
It might be the lack of meaningful engagement
Incredibly inspiring work from the NY Times RnD division
@NYTimesRD
finding a native way to incorporate PG scans in an article -
animation is controlled by scrolling. Feels really great,
"Is UI Design necessary?" Wth.
I'm continuously amazed by low Q content like this getting tons of attention on LinkedIn.
I truly know nothing about posting social content. 🤯
Late in the game but MASSIVE shout-out to the team at
@hugeinc
that made this awesome piece for Google.

Illuminating objects in 3D is a total art form.
I'm a big fan of Teenage illuminated Bg and object in half shadows. The Altar I by
@MaterialsOffice
has some beautiful renders too, game of greys.
What other methods or illumination setups are common out there?
I love the candid tone and transparency of this article. In fact I think it's super healthy and would love to see other agencies come forward with their pricing model and rates *wink *wink

I've been using Photoshop heavily this week and last. It's interesting the unconscious limitations using a tool sets on your work. Photoshop might be messy but there are really no limits compared to sketch or similar.
FWIW I'm doing UI / styleframes, almost painting, so good.
