Back before I had a bird room and I lived in an apartment with roommates, my birds used to be in my bedroom. People ask how I could stand the noise. Well, they were quiet at night, and during the day, if I napped, they napped. They still go quiet if I pretend to sleep. Even Queso

I have a fond memory back in high school of taking a nap on the sofa. My cockatiel Beebo sat next to my face and took a nap with me.
Now Isis and Rodan? They lived in my bedroom in my first apartment. When the sun came up, the shrieking started, whether I was awake or asleep. 😱

I refuse to believe that birds sleep, cause I swear in his 10 years, I've never seen my Hahn's even tuck in his head. If he lay like this I'd think he was a gonner 😆. That's so sweet.

I love my birds because they're super aware of when their bedtime is as well. If I walk into their room when it's later in the day they all immediately start doing the thing where they ruffle their feathers to get ready to sleep.

the budgie i had growing up was quick to let us know if it was past the usual time we gave her her breakfast nutriberries, but she was very good about people napping. she actually liked to sit on people while they napped and i'll never get why 🥺

Omg my cockatiel does the same! He goes super quiet when I take a nap and he goes into his cage on his own when he knows it's time to sleep
