Irish Record and the first Irish woman ever to go under 2 minutes in the 800m.
I am absolutely delighted. With the disappointment of everything this year, Olympics postponed and lockdown for months, my coach, my team mates and I put our heads down and worked hard.

There will be a few people who walk through your life and leave lasting footprints in your heart. Jerry Kiernan was one of those people. I feel truly blessed and privileged to have been able to call him my coach and friend.
Thank you Jerry, for everything.
Berlin, you've left me broken hearted, but I gave it everything out there tonight. I left it all on the track and wore my Irish vest with pride.

I'll be back and as hungry as ever.…
As Fridays go, that was pretty special!

Thank you to everyone not spending Christmas day with their loved ones because they are looking after someone's else's loved ones.
Let's remember this when our nurses are asking for a fair wage!
So proud of my wee sis who is a nurse and big sis who is a doctor 💕
Such a beautiful tribute to a man I will forever miss. A true legend of our sport, and our Nation. Thank you RTÉ for sharing this, and thank you Jerry for everything ❤

To race in honor of Gabriele Grunewald, and witness a World Record, just incredible.
2021 it is!
An extra year to wait for the honour of representing my country on the Olympic stage once more.
We will face the next few months of uncertainty together yet apart. Keep safe everyone.
Well I think I made a horcrux yesterday because I'm pretty sure I left a bit of my soul out there on that course!

What a way to finish off 2019, with a Euro X team silver 🇮🇪🥈
.
Such an honour to be part of Irelands most successful Euro X team with 4 medals going home 💪
I am bitterly disappointed to share that I have decided to end my indoor season prematurely. During a brilliant season opener in January I managed to tear my calf.
After careful consideration, myself and my coach felt it best to draw a line under this year’s indoor season.
Unfortunately due to a few set backs I am not where I want to be in order to compete in the European Indoor Champs and do myself and the Irish vest justice. Never an easy decision but one that Steve and myself feel is right in order to best prepare me for the summer ahead.
Eldest daughter played her first u5 camogie match last week. Marched straight in to full-forward and took the wee girl from The Loup by the hand. Talked the whole way home about her new friend. Must've got it from

It is always an honour to run in the Irish vest, but to do so infront of a home crowd is something I will never forget. 🇮🇪
Huge thank you to everyone who came out to support,to all the organisers and volunteers who made this Euro X the best one I've ever raced☘

Congratulations to Mageean who has been voted as your Her Sport Athlete Of The Year!
In 2020, the Portaferry runner broke THREE National records & cemented her status as one of the finest middle-distance runners in the world!
And a very strange season draws to a close. I feel very grateful to have raced this year, to run two national records, and spend my year with these amazing people.
With so much uncertainty I'm so grateful for my coach

So the BBC came down to Portaferry for an interview, and didn't mummy Mageean have enough scones to feed the whole peninsula... see the wee interview below and the next tweet for a pic of the lads in our messy kitchen that they werent suppost to see 😂

Decent start to the year, first 1500m in 4.04. Great to be part of such a fantastic race. More hard work for me to get up that field 💪

So sorry to hear of the death of Pat Hooper.
For as long as I've been in athletics I've heard his name spoken of so highly and seen the impact and legacy he had on our sport.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family.
Thank you Pat for giving so much to our sport.
Irish athletics has lost a great servant - on and off the track - and one of the nicest guys you could meet.
Pat Hooper, a 1980 Olympian in the marathon, has died at the age of 68 after what's believed to be a heart attack. He'll be sorely missed.
