1) Learn to cook Cooking is a life skill. You have no control of your nutrition when you are dependent on fast food and Doordash. You may have a spouse who enjoys it but you should still be capable. Try it and share responsibilities. Make it a time to be together as a family.

2) Workout at home At least 1x/week plan a home workout. Your kids should see you move and do hard things. Even if they are too young to understand what and why you are doing it. Kids are curious. They will ask questions and want to try the things their superhero is doing.

3) Be adventurous as a family Society tells our youth to seek adventure in video games and movies instead of real life. Show them that the real thing outdoors is much more exciting. -Hike -Fish/Hunt -Plant a garden -Run on the beach -Camp (even if its in the backyard)

4) Get back to competition In your youth, you found purpose for your body in sports. Many immediately lose that after high school. The real world hits and our body no longer has true purpose. Competition even with just ourselves can spark that again.

5) Manage stress Each family member contributes to the overall mental health of the home. Get outside. Practice gratitude as a family. Use breath work and teach your kids to use it to control their emotions. All of these limit stress and increase joy in the family.

6) Prioritize self care The last person most men prioritize is themselves. You need time to exercise, journal, or even just take a walk. Plan ahead, take turns, and prioritize this time for both you and your spouse. It will become the most important part of your week.

7) Walk as a family Movement is a lifestyle. Do it together as a family. It shows your kids what their normal looks like. They will go from stroller, to walking with you, to using it as their own routine one day. It's great after meals for metabolic health and low impact.

8) Family 1st The rat race tries to teach us more is always better. Monitor the stress levels in your home. At times, this will require you to say no to social "opportunities." Prioritize the health of your household. It is the only team that belongs in first place.

9) Structure the night for sleep Sleep and kids are a bit of an oxymoron. Sleep needs structure both for you and your kids. -Limit screen time for your kids prior to bed -Avoid processed foods at dinner -Play outside near sunset -Storytime Set up your night for success.

10) Don't be afraid to stand out Mental and physical health are poorly managed by most of society. If you want your family to look different you're going to have to act different. You won't fit in but that should never be your goal. Make the tough decisions and lead.
